Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Supervising Engineer, Water Resources in the Engineering Operations and Maintenance Section, this Supervisory Senior Engineer will oversee the Engineering Special Projects Unit, and is responsible for supervising and directing engineering staff for planning and implementing engineering projects and scientific studies related to improving the conveyance of water in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta) for increasing water supply, improving water supply reliability, improving water quality, and protecting aquatic species associated with the State Water Project (SWP) operations and compliance. This position is also responsible for overseeing specific projects, studies and assignments to meet other regulatory agencies requirements, and for performing necessary administrative functions within the Section as they may arise. The Senior Engineer will also coordinate with environmental scientists, engineers, and others within DWR, outside agencies and consultants.

Special Requirements
Must be proficient with Windows-based computer applications.
Possession of a valid certificate registration as a civil engineer by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Possession of a valid California driver's license to travel to meeting locations and project site.
