The State Water Project Analysis Office is looking for a dynamically engaged, Senior Engineer with a can-do attitude to join its team. If you want to be a part of the State Water Project (SWP) team, we may have the job for you!

In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and analysts to reconcile and solve complex problems using technical engineering skills, good judgement, and team-oriented collaboration. As the lead of the Contract Billing Support Unit, working with SWP Contractor's auditors and their team will be common.

Billing disputes from the SWP Water Contractor's are to be resolved but are often complex. Do you want to be challenged with complex work that is both rewarding and gratifying? Do you want to be aware of all SWP activities and understand how the SWP functions financially?

Do you want to work hard and feel productive? Do you want to interact with all levels of DWR, including Executive Management, to develop financial policies for long-outstanding billing disputes? As Manager of the Contract Billing Support Unit, you will be the lead representative of DWR to the SWP Contractor's auditors. You will lead and direct activities that support resolution of billing disputes and create positive partnership with the SWP Water Contractors.

Special Requirements

Must possess a valid California driver's license with a good driving record to attend meetings and/or training. Must possess a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

SWPAO is looking for a communicative, quick thinking, logic solving, analytical leader that can guide others through the maze of SWP billing disputes and cost recovery. Applicants should have knowledge of engineering economics; SAP (or similar programs), Cost Allocation and Billing system and database logic; SWP facilities; SWP Contractors, to perform the duties of this position.

The incumbent must be persistent, with a keen eye for detail, yet can thoroughly document policies and processes and communicate complex issues in understandable terms. SWPAO is looking for a team player with critical reasoning skills and sound judgment.
