This product development Senior Engineer Tool Software Developer position is directly responsible for developing software tools for J&J Surgical Vision product manufacturing and service. Software tools are to enable and facilitate the commercial release and transfer of the NPI product software. This role works closely with the application software and system design teams to develop custom software for enabling critical system functions such as calibration, alignment, and other qualifying test functions.
Design, develop and implement surgical systems custom software tools for system V&V and transition to manufacturing and service.
Collaborate with application software development and system engineers to define and implement critical verification and calibration test functions for release transfer to manufacturing.
Design and execute release of formal system tool software for manufacturing and service use.
Coordinate code review and document software design requirements and descriptions.
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field is required.
A master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of dynamic software development experience is required.
Experience with one full software development cycle from concept to commercial release is required.
LabVIEW test application software development experience is required.
C/C++ coding skills are required.
Strong experience in software test tools and development process is required.
Strong verbal and written communications skills are required.
Must be able to multitask and work effectively at all levels in a fast-paced environment.
Strong technical knowledge in real-time control software preferred.
System calibration algorithms experience is preferred.
Scripting language and various OS APIs skills are preferred.
Strong knowledge of regulations and standards affecting medical devices is preferred.
