How will you make an impact?

Independently support Engineering by providing a wide variety engineering-related services and leading/managing engineering-related projects.

What will you do?

  • Lead a group of technically diverse individuals to develop project scope, project estimate and requests for capital; specify equipment and installation requirements; manage and direct construction and commissioning activities; manage and maintain project costs and schedule; finalize documentation in accordance with recognized good engineering practices and compliance regulations for projects of $10MM+ in size and of various complexity.

  • Conduct technical feasibility and economic studies that are strategic in nature and usually involve the potential for significant expenditures.

  • Work with Senior Production and Financial personnel to identify expansion opportunities for the site.

  • Develop and maintain project plans and coordinate project activities; track critical path milestones, accomplishments and results. Ensure that end-to-end project planning, risk identification, dependency tracking, issues identification / escalation, and change management are being managed appropriately.

  • Serve as a technical resource to all engineers on site and perform each duty associated within the Engineering group as needed.

  • Maintain the Quality Systems conformance to regulatory requirements and company policies where appropriate through effective utilization of the Quality Systems tools, as well as direct actions.

  • Develop and present project-specific or technical presentations to clients, senior management and in-house staff.

How will you get here?

Education

  • BS Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil) required; MS Engineering - preferred

Experience

  • 10+ progressive experience in a large-scale chemical production environment - required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of Regulatory requirements which Include: FDA, EPA, and OSHA; detailed engineering project management principles and a thorough knowledge of ASME and ASHRAE codes required.

  • Project P&L responsibility required.

Duties and responsibilities: * Manage testing projects, including test planning, resource planning, interfacing with internal and external suppliers for parts procurement/fabrication, data acquisition planning and operation, test data analysis and results reporting. * Work with integrated product development teams to assist in strategic test planning with respect to what needs to be tested, how it will be tested and where. * Report test results to design teams, management, and quality review boards. * Understand facility and company safety policy and be prepared to train and audit other employees. * Perform test facility, test fixture, and equipment installation safety audits. * Perform component and system level troubleshooting and support issue resolution and root cause analysis. * Plan and implement new product performance and reliability tests. * Design and fabricate the fixtures for testing. * Responsible for analyzing the test data, writing test reports and presenting test results. Setup, calibration, and use of test instrumentation. Instrumentation includes, but not limited to, load cells, accelerometers, strain gages, and pressure transducers and the use of data acquisition systems collecting and analyzing the data. Engineering degree required. Previous testing and analysis to meet company performance and quality requirements and/or national/international standards/codes is preferred. Candidate is required to have a sound understanding of engineering principles, basic mechanical design, and understand basic fabrication and assembly. Experience with Labview and Matlab software is desirable but not required. Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint are required.
