We are looking for a seasoned engineer who has experience in engine turbochargers. They will be responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives within the engine Turbochargers segment, ensuring the alignment of projects with the organization's long-term objectives. This role is pivotal in managing the development, testing, and implementation of advanced turbo technologies, promoting innovation, and enhancing the company's capabilities in Engine Turbocharger market. The Technical Specialist will also play a crucial role in talent development, cross-functional collaboration, and upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the engine turbo segment within the organization, setting technical goals and objectives that align with the company's vision and market demands for Turbochargers

  • Apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures to complete complex projects, with expertise in Turbocharger design, analysis and validation (Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, CFD, etc)

  • Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, with previous exposure to automotive industry highly preferred (experience with major OEM or automotive parts supplier)

  • Knowledge of electronic control systems that regulate turbocharger performance, including sensors and actuators

  • Utilize skills in reverse engineering and turbo technology, demonstrating expert level proficiency in identifying tools and equipment required for high-quality turbo product development and related tasks (such as quality issue support)

  • Evaluate functional risk, develop and implement validation plans for turbochargers and related parts and materials, and engage directly in high-risk projects (DVP&R, DFMEA, PPAP experience required)

  • Oversee the development and management of the engineering budget for the Engine Turbochargers segment, ensuring optimal resource allocation across projects

  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the Turbochargers segment, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and methodologies

  • Cross-functional collaboration with internal sales team, product management, purchasing, marketing, and external suppliers/manufactures to ensure projects meet business, customer, and market needs, delivering high-quality, innovative solutions

  • Represent the Engine Turbochargers segment in leadership meetings, providing insights into capabilities, project statuses, and strategic directions

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, managing risk and ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety in engineering practices

  • Travel as required (up to 50%)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3-5 years with direct experience in Engine Turbocharger segment
