Senior Engineer - Product Quality

FREYR Battery is on a mission to decarbonize energy and transportation systems globally by producing the world's most sustainable battery cells. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, FREYR's mission is to produce green battery cells to accelerate the decarbonization of energy and transportation systems globally.

FREYR has built the commercially-sized Customer Qualification Plant in Mo i Rana, Norway and announced development of industrial scale battery cell production in the United States.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer

• Product Quality to implement and oversee quality controll measures, improve product reliability and to ensure our batteries meet industry standards.

You will be working with scaling up breakthrough semi-solid technology creating highly sustainable batteries. We are looking for exceedingly motivated professionals to join our mission, and to help us build a centre of excellence for battery cell manufacturing.

This position reports to the Head of Product Quality and is preferably to be based in Mo i Rana, Norway

• Oslo (Lysaker) could be an option.

Main tasks include

• Scrutinize test data quality in cell development projects

• Scrutinize cell production data from manufacturing control plan / MES

• Set up and run product quality related tests

• Lead root cause analysis on manufactured goods

• Support our internal and external labs with quality plans

• Conduct MSA

• Initiate and document changes

• Participate in DFMEA / PFMEA

• Liaise with production quality department and IQC lab

Qualifications

• Required

• Minimum Master's degree in electrochemistry or material science, alternatively mechanical or electrical engineering

• Minimum 3 years experience with lithium-ion cell production

• Practical and relevant experience in quality planning / quality control / APQP

• Analytical mindset

• Fluent in English

Qualifications

• Advantageous

• PhD in electrochemistry or material science, alternatively mechanical or electrical engineering

• Experience from all parts of the battery cell manufacturing value chain

• Multiple years of experience from the quality function in manufacturing

• Solid experience in driving root cause analysis processes

• Experience of working in an international company

• IATF 16949 training / certification

• ISO 9001 / 14001 training

• Six Sigma Green / Black belt and statistical tools
