SENIOR ENGINEER - POINT OF SALE (POS) SYSTEMS

American Eagle Outfitters' Warrendale, PA, office seeks a Senior Engineer - Point of Sale (POS) Systems. This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position. Duties include: (i) designing and developing back-end cloud ready microservices and REST APIs; (ii) producing technical documentation, versioned software code, and unit test scripts based on assigned development tasks; (iii) following and maintaining engineering standards for API first, cloud ready modern Point of Sale (POS) platform; and (iv) taking on team lead responsibilities for planning and directing software project work performed by the engineering team or vendors; and (v) working with Architecture team to craft technical designs and drive the evolution of our store architecture.

This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States but must be able to work in the Warrendale office three (3) days per week.

Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a directly related field plus five years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.

Must also have any experience with or knowledge of: (i) Retail POS / MPOS; (ii) coding in Java, Angular, Node and Springboot frameworks; (iii) building Microservices using Spring frameworks and deploying to cloud environments such as AWS/Azure/GCP in an agile environment; (iv) API development such as RESTFUL/SOAP web services; (v) database and storage such as Oracle, MS SQL server, MongoDB, or Redis, etc.; and (vi) security concepts such as authentication, single-sign-on etc.

This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States but must be able to work in the Warrendale office three (3) days per week.

Experience can be concurrent.
