Senior Engineer (Mechanical Design - Lva)

Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Engineer (Mechanical Design - LVA) at our Arden, NC location.

In this role, you will develop engineering solutions to complex problems pertaining to new Low Voltage Switchgear product development including materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique product applications.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. Relocation assistance provided to eligible candidates!

What you'll do:

• Design responsibility for a product line. Execute all design, development, and related technical tasks required to develop new products for the product line.

• Develop product designs which may require the implementation of unique solutions and in-depth engineering analysis.

• Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, and processes while maintaining awareness and control of costs. Per applicable industry standards.

• Work closely with program manager to develop and maintain detailed project schedules incorporating resource management and milestone deliverables.

• Assume responsibility for appropriate testing and evaluation of products, parts, equipment, tools, and systems along with necessary corrective follow-up.

• Be capable of writing articles for trade and technical publications, presenting papers and preparing patent disclosures.

• Possess a working knowledge of all development/design related EBS procedures.

• Support plant quality and OPEX initiatives, as pertains to product line.

• Support plant cost improvement and VAVE objectives, as pertains to product line.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical engineering design experience.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of mechanical engineering design experience.

• Previous switchgear experience highly preferred.

Position Criteria:

• Must demonstrate proficiency in mechanical and electrical principals.

• Possess a sound working knowledge of software programs such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and adequate familiarity with AutoCAD Inventor to utilize it for the purposes of designing part models, reviewing drawings and basic sketching.

• Possess sound problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze product failure issues sufficiently to drive them to root cause.

• Demonstrate fluid communication skills, both verbal and written.
