How will you make an impact in this role?

American Express is looking for Senior Engineers to contribute to the company's focus on building centralized matching products to support our large and global corporate clients.

These centralized set of capabilities that will enable transaction/commodity matching. Drive significant upgrades on siloed matching implementations using a combination of deterministic and probabilistic techniques.

Scope of Impact/Influence:

  • Leads and mentors teams of engineers through ongoing development efforts.

  • Ensures engineers to enforce to team standards.

  • Accountable for accurate completion and quality of all documentation and work produced by engineering team.

  • Accountable for delivering a quality product that meets the customers' needs.

Responsibilities:

  • More than 70%+ of the time spent on coding and/or hands-on implementation of re-usable frameworks to drive adoption of Matching in Amex

  • Combine Data Science and Engineering skills to solve very interesting problems that directly and greatly impact Commercial Clients

  • Not only crafting ML model prototypes, but also putting them into production in scale

  • Work with a dynamic team and play a visible role in implementing horizontal solutions

  • Works with large, complex data sets to build products and tools that enhance client experiences

  • Work closely with Data Science / Machine Learning team to design, code, train, test, deploy and iterate on large scale machine learning systems

  • You will work with Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science experts to strive for greater functionality in technology ecosystem

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and programming skills, in production environment.

  • 10+ years hands-on experience with the following technologies:

  • SQL/ NoSQL

  • Python, and/or Java

  • Big Data

  • Once of the popular Machine Learning technologies such as TensorFlow, Keras, ScikitLearn, H20.ai, MXNet, Caffe, Gluon etc.

  • RESTAPI and services

  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores

  • Experience supporting and working with multi -functional teams in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree /Masters/PHD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, EEE, Statistics, Math, Industrial Engineering, Operational Research, Physics, or related fields.

  • Expertise in building scalable Machine Learning powered applications

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with the following technologies:

  • Direct involvement in working with large volumes of data and building, deploying and measuring in production environment

  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Apache NiFi, Abnitio, Talend, Spark, Alteryx, etc. is a plus

  • Hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, Hadoop Ecosystem, Spark is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases: Redshift, Neo4J, MongoDB, Cassandra etc. is a plus

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
