Job Duties and Responsibilities

Test A/V streaming functionality developed for Cloud and hardware/software of STBs; test mobile software and applications for iOS and Android against carrier specific networks and for Home Network routers; analyze new product features based on functional and design specifications; create test plans, test cases, and test reports; design and implement test automation to independently test product components; use defect tracking tools to log, manage, resolve, and report on bugs/defects; gather and analyze software quality and performance metrics throughout the SDLC.

Req's: BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or closely related and 5 years of QA experience in the job offered or as QA Engineer/Analyst/Consultant.

Will accept 3-year or 4-year Bachelor's degree. Requires 5 years of experience using Charles, Fiddler, Testflight, Audacity, SVN, ADB, Jira, Flurry, Wireshark, HTTP, HLS, HTTPS, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, UPnP, and AV codec. Drug screen and background check required.

Our software supports significant data volumes and heavy server load. Successful software engineers at Guidewire typically have: * A desire to work collaboratively in an empowered, small, cross-functional team * Experience working in an agile and fast paced development environment (e.g. TDD, BDD, Agile, pair programming, etc.) * A passion for code quality demonstrated by thorough testing * A desire to be hands-on in designing and writing code * Curiosity and internal motivation to constantly improve * Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment * Excellent communication skills, comfort level to speak their mind and defend ideas based on merit, yet humility and hunger to learn from others Key qualifications include experience with * Core Java * Familiarity with Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Unit/Integration Testing, etc * Experience with microservices architecture and containers * Experience building secure software and knowledge of security practices * Object-Oriented Design using SOLID and Hexagonal design principles * Experience working with Open Source frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, jBPM, and others * Strong understanding of relational database persistence (e.g. MySQL, Oracle). Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, CouchDB) is a plus * Agile development practices * Experience designing REST or gRPC based APIs * Cloud Services (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure) * Technical design and leadership of features from inception to release * Mentoring less experienced engineers * Effective collaboration with different stakeholders while leading features (e.g. Architects, PMs, PgMs) * Maintaining and promoting a healthy codebase and ensuring high quality of products A typical candidate has a Computer Science degree or equivalent.
