ARA is seeking an experienced engineer/analyst to support the development of the Joint Anti-Air Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE) operational tool for the ARA Emerald Coast Division. This tool includes the Joint Anti-Air Model (JAAM) and is used to develop and validate operational tactics for aircraft and weapons. It evaluates overall weapon system effectiveness from weapon launch through target intercept and displays results in a graphical 3D environment.
This position requires 7 or more years of experience. A BS or Master's in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical field, or experience as a tactical military pilot or weapons systems officer with experience in aircraft tactics, techniques and procedures, is required. Experience with aircraft tactics, weapon simulations, or experience with real-world systems is required. Experience with IR and RF sensors and aerodynamic models is also desirable. The candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as with a team of developers and testers. This position supports software development in a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 appraised environment.
The candidate will assist with the integration and testing of models and data and help verify that the software adequately represents real-world system performance for intended purposes. The candidate will be involved in every step of the application development process, from analyzing the aerodynamic models to testing and troubleshooting the finished product.
Job duties include:
Perform requirements analysis and help develop functional requirements
Prepare analyst manuals and present status briefings to the customer
Help ensure the methodology and data within the operational tool are adequate
Help evaluate proposed software changes or additions and advise customer Configuration Control Board (CCB)
Experience with Modeling and Simulation (M&S) techniques and/or real-world aircraft and weapon systems
Must be able to work well within a team environment and able to adapt quickly to change
Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills
Active SECRET clearance (or eligible to receive clearance)
Must be organized and deadline driven
Must be a team player
