As a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer, you will report directly to the Head of Station and join the team to develop complex electro-mechanical systems. You will oversee the conception, design, productization, and support of the station embedded subsystem, including; FW/SW/HW architecture and stack design, A/D, D/A, DSP, embedded microcontroller selection, communication protocols, and necessary algorithms. Successful execution will require diverse engagement with ME, EE, Mechatronics, and Manufacturing. You will be essential to sustaining the pace of development of the station.
BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 8+ years of relevant experience
Expert in C/C++ state machine software design, Python
Have managed requirements, design, and implementation of embedded solutions (HW and FW)
Master in Embedded Firmware development, SW/HW/FW architecture/stack design
Experience working with linux-based embedded and RTOS systems
Ace at working with and controlling peripheral devices such as: encoders, electric actuators, motors (BDC, BLDC, stepper), sensors (capacitive, UWB, IR, LIDAR, etc.), and complex robotic systems
Deep knowledge of communications protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, BLE) and selecting those that are optimal for the application
Can use both a logic analyzer/scope and a soldering iron
Hands-on experience in robotics or automation design and implementation
Have implemented Agile SW development and test to promote release management
