Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description Job Description S enior Embedded SW Engineer This position will be responsible for the core embedded SW design and development. The candidate for this position should be a senior SW Engineer with experience working with embedded system platforms.

The position will develop the software system components of a handheld battery-operated Linux embedded system. This well-funded and well-managed start-up has completed prototype development and is moving into production and pilot-testing in Q3/Q4. This key position will clean up the existing application layer code to improve the human interface and device efficiencies working closely with hardware engineering and FPGA development.

Per the CEO “We are looking for an embedded C++ engineer with strong object oriented experience in a Linux environment (preferably with hand-held or IoT) to help take us to the next level.” You will be joining a world-class team of RF, Hardware, Software, SaaS, and AI developers developing a unique product offering within a well-funded and well-managed start up environment. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who is passionate about developing great product designs and about the space we are in. The position can be located in the Silicon Valley (Los Gatos area) or in Bellevue, WA and the team works a hybrid schedule (usually 3 days in the office / 2 days remote). Required Qualifications and Skills for the Senior Embedded SW Engineeer:

CS / CompE / BSEE or equivalent experience 6-10 years of experience including lead technical role on commercial embedded projects Embedded Linux application and system level development, interfacing with FPGA and HW device drivers C / C++ (C++ and strong object oriented development is key for this position) Embedded automated test and debugging infrastructures and capabilities Embedded system CI/CD Tools and Build systems Component lifecycle management, upgrades, and customer support acumen Good communications and presentation skills Ability to optimize data processing with FPGA and Hardware teams Additional Desirable Skills: Knowledge of DSP and radar-based systems is a plus Image and video processing Cloud connected and managed edge based embedded systems Python and Verilog coding skills Xilinx embedded system architectures and tool chains Cloud and embedded system AI infrastructures Salary / Benefits - base salary for this position is in the $175k - $220k range plus bonus, stock options and excellent benefits.
