Senior Embedded Software Engineer ECU
Our Powertrain division is se seeking an experienced Software Engineer for our Customer Applications team in Auburn Hills, MI. The role will mainly support our OEM customer, with travel to the customer locations (Milford, MI) on an as-needed basis. The desired Software Engineer will design and develop Embedded Software for different features and functions in Real Time Engine Control applications. You will be a part of the global, diverse team that represents the center of expertise in the Application interface development and complete software testing against the requirements.
Challenged with satisfying customer needs with the development of software to implement some of the most complex and interesting control strategies for engine management
Maintain an efficient and close cooperation with the System and HW development group
Software development includes working on the latest technology of microcontrollers, requirement analysis, architect, design, coding, multiple levels of testing and supporting the customer
You will be part of designing solutions, developing and testing Software and working with state of the art test equipment
Ability to prioritize issues and drive projects forward during difficult/ambiguous situations
Ability to communicate and experience in working in a multisite and multicultural team Capability to work in target oriented and commitment driven environments
Able to systematically solve problems and perform root cause analysis with limited supervision Able to recommend innovative ideas to achieve results in efficient ways
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
3 plus years of hands-on experience in embedded SW development for Real-time powertrain systems
3 plus years of experience with algorithms, C programming, HW schematics Experienced using SW design and development tools such as microcontroller emulators, logic analyzers
Experienced in testing methodologies for embedded SW Strict compliance with the defined SW development processes
Providing on-site support at customer location in Milford, MI as needed
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory
Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
5+ years of experience algorithms, C programming, HW schematics Experienced using SW design and development tools such as microcontroller emulators, logic analyzers, low level device programming
OEM customer interface experience
Knowledge of Automotive SPICE
Microsoft office tools and automation scripts i.e. python, Java, Visual Basic, Unix shell, Perl, VC++
