Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for client and internal projects that impact eligibility - i.e., new client implementations, client re-implementations (changes to existing eligibility source), expansions, and client transitions

  • Works closely with various cross-functional teams during the new client implementation and on an ongoing basis to assist in the resolution and root-cause analysis of day-to-day issues that are raised to the team's attention

  • Specializes in client file setup and testing, problem solving, development of creative solutions to client requirements, including long-term development of eligibility processes, systems, and services

This is a complex, fast-paced, matrixed environment with a lot of moving parts. The challenge is in developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. You'll be expected to interpret and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources and use it to tell a meaningful story.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with internal and external client personnel

  • Ability to provide client consultation and facilitate client meetings over the phone and face - to - face

  • Mathematical Skills

  • Reasoning Skills

  • Computer Skills

  • Ability to analyze complex issues, determine root - cause, and determine workable solution in an effective manner

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office Products

  • Moderate - travel to staff locations and occasional client site kickoff meetings

  • On - call as needed during critical peak periods

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills

  • Programming, business requirements analysis, and/or structured system testing background

  • Experience using Microsoft Project and Visio

The Drug Intelligence Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for the provision of drug intelligence services including but not limited to Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee support and clinical (internal and external) communications related to P&T matters. The chosen candidate must be willing to work in both a team environment and also work well independently. The chosen candidate must be willing to support tasks and projects outside of standard duties. * This position can be based in either our Chicago, Illinois office or our Irvine, California office. * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical, written, and verbal communication skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Primary Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain new drug monographs and therapeutic class reviews * Participate via phone or in person in P&T committee meetings and facilitate client and internal P&T committee processes * Oversee projects from inception to completion * Continuously look for ways to streamline and improve the quality of drug information processes * Provide responses to drug information requests * Be aware of current and emerging trends in clinical information, treatment guidelines and formulary review strategies * Assist in training and mentoring of pharmacy residents, students, and interns * Other activities as determined by the Sr. Director, Drug Intelligence or Manager, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Required Qualifications: * BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D * A current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of California or Illinois * 6 months experience working as a Pharmacist in a Clinical setting (ie, hospital, PBM, Health Plan, Outpatient Clinic, LTC) * 2 years of experience working as a licensed pharmacist * Experience assessing and evaluating clinical research * Computer proficiency at the intermediate level and experience with MS Office (Specifically with Word, Excel and PowerPoint) * Ability to travel up to 10% Preferred Qualifications: * PharmD * Experience working within a PBM or Managed Care * Successful completion of a Pharmacy Residency program * Additional certifications in any areas of specialty (i.e. oncology, HIV, pain management, psychiatry, etc.) Careers with OptumRx.
