Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Senior / Lead Electrical Wiring Architecture Engineer to join the BDS team in Ridley Park, PA or Oklahoma City, OK.

The selected candidate will be responsible for development of wiring architectures and related products on various BDS development programs. This role involves understanding and applying the principles of wiring and electrical integration to implement a large-scale wiring network meeting the requirements of a platform system design. This position reports to the core BDS Electrical Engineering Capability team, part of the BDS Platform Engineering Capability.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Senior and/or Lead Engineers.

This position is based in Ridley Park or Oklahoma City, but may require up to 25% travel.

Position Responsibilities

  • Development of Wiring Architectures / Topologies for BDS Platforms

  • Consumption of system and subsystem-level requirements for end to end connectivity; leading construction of a bundle network which meets those requirements.

  • Coordination with upstream and downstream stakeholders to achieve target platform performance

  • Assesses impacts of architectural decisions to product lifecycle

  • Participation in program-level digital integration reviews

  • Leading teams of engineers to guide development of lower-level wire bundle detail

  • Presentations to senior leadership on wiring system maturity, risks, and issues

  • Representing Boeing during customer design reviews

  • Resolution of complex electrical integration issues involving competing requirements

  • Advising, Assisting, and Checking the work of wiring engineers

  • Facilitation and Resolution of cross-functional technical issues

  • Coaching, Teaching, and Mentoring

  • This position is based in Ridley Park or Oklahoma City, but may require up to 25% travel.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics.

  • 5 or more years developing aircraft wiring.

  • Experience developing aircraft wiring architectures.

  • Knowledge of FAA EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems) regulations, compliance, and certification.

  • 3 or more years of experience leading teams of engineers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (level 5)
  • Knowledge of common wiring tool suites and associated CAD packages (Siemens Capital, CATIA Electrical Harness Workbenches, etc.)

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 4

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 5

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range senior: $128,350 - $173,650

Summary pay range lead: $157,250 - $212,750

Oklahoma City, OK.

Summary pay range senior: $111,350 - $150,650

Summary pay range lead: $136,850 - $185,150
