Gannett Fleming is looking for a Senior Electrical Inspector - Transit & Rail who has the ability to perform electrical inspections for transit and rail projects.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and detailed daily log of the contractor's performance and progress including delivery of materials.
Track field conditions that require deviation from drawings. Make notes on drawings and communicate with Resident Engineer. (RE to communicate with Client)
Responsible for monitoring, inspecting and documenting the progress and quality of all aspects of construction.
Responsible for communicating with all trades (plumbing, mechanical, fire suppression etc) to coordinate overlapping work.
Coordinate with the necessary entities to make sure safety standards are being followed.
Coordinate with the necessary entities to make sure environmental standards are met.
Compute estimates of work completed and coordinate with the Resident Engineer and Office Engineer in verifying Contractor's Application for Payment
Examine workmanship of completed construction for conformity to project specifications and industry standards of construction.
Other duties as directed by the Resident Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or NICET-II certification in electrical or acceptable combination of education / years' experience in
10 + years experience on Rail Projects
Experience with local Rail clients (Amtrak, MTA, NJT) a plus
Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and shop drawings
Effectively utilize computer systems and software for documentation and data management like ASITE, Procore, Ebuilder etc.
Valid driver's license and access to motor vehicle transportation
Excellent communication skills
Ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate varying shift work (day, evening, overnight, weekends)
