Summary: Kidwell is seeking an experienced and driven candidate to fill the position of Senior Electrical Estimator in our Lincoln, Omaha, or Kearney Location. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of project proposals for Kidwells partnering general contractors and electrical customers. The ideal candidate will work with Kidwells field and pre-sales engineering staff, as well as Kidwells vendors and partners, in order to build professional and accurate estimates for Kidwells electrical projects to current and prospective customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates/revises estimates, budgets, proposals, and change orders for Kidwells electrical services.

  • Provide value engineering ideas and/or scope modification suggestions during the bid process and during post bid follow ups. Estimate the cost of such ideas to help in negotiating an award of the project.

  • This position works with pre-sales and field engineering staff in order to build a proposal that includes an accurate estimate of labor and material.

  • This position also works with Kidwells existing vendors and partners for locating and tracking the availability of relevant material for the successful installation of Kidwells electrical projects.

  • Provide training and support to less experienced estimators.

  • Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.

  • Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

Do You Have What It Takes?:

  • An Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field or 4+ years of electrical experience and/or training is required.

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator of at least 2-5 years required.

  • Design/build experience is a plus but not required.

  • Proficient in the use of Electrical Estimating Software, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Must be able and willing to learn other Estimation specific softwares and programs

  • Technical skills and the passion to always learn more. The ability to understand all aspects of the estimation process and continue to grow as business needs change.

  • Availability to work out of our Lincoln, Kearney, or Omaha location is required.
