Telophase Corporation, a federal and commercial IT Services company in the Washington DC Metro area, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (FPGA and Digital Design Engineer) to join our dynamic team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.
The Senior Electrical Engineer (FPGA and Digital Design Engineer) will support the design and development of complex Ground Support, Testing, and Flight systems. The FPGA and Digital Design Engineer will support all phases of FPGA and circuit design from developing requirements through test and validation. The successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles as well as work independently with little direct supervision. The FPGA and Digital Design Engineer will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment supporting multiple missions at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with FPGA design utilizing the Microsemi RTG4.
Strong circuit design, documentation and implementation of high-speed digital electronics, FPGAs, and embedded processor systems.
Experience in developing specifications, and resource requirements for digital/FPGA designs.
Ability to work requirements and flow down for system/subsystem/box/board needs.
Familiarity with PCIe, Ethernet, DSP, 1553, VPX, Infiniband is a plus.
Familiarity with OrCAD CIS or Altium for schematic design is a plus.
Digital system partitioning and function implementation in FPGAs and simulation is a plus.
Familiarity with Solid Data Recorder (SDR) development.
Designing for varied environments (temperature, shock, vibration) and radiation hardened FPGAs is a plus. NASA and space application preferred.
Experience with design, analysis, and layout of PCBs with high-speed digital line rates of 1+Gb/s is a plus.
Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware/ Software Engineering and Systems Engineering is preferred.
Proficiency with Xilinx, Microsemi, and Altera Tool Suites (VHDL, Synthesis, Place and Route, Simulation, Timing Analysis).
