Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description:

This individual will interact with a team of engineers, architects, designers, and project managers on government facility electrical systems projects.

Major duties include:

  • Review airfield electrical submittals for compliance with contract documents

  • Review and respond to construction RFI's on airfield design project

  • Designing facility electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding and lightning protection as required for design modifications

  • Designing low voltage and medium voltage systems up to 15 KV

  • Performing electrical load and lighting calculations

  • Creating facility electrical systems design plans from engineering concepts

  • Prepare reports and construction documents; including specifications, plans, construction schedules and cost estimates

  • Analyzing code issues and recommending corrective actions

  • Using computer assisted engineering and design software prepare engineering design documents

  • Working with engineers, drafting personnel and engineering designers to develop electrical construction drawings

  • Developing construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD MEP (Revit preferred)

  • Using Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and AutoCAD

  • Performing other related duties as required

Job requirements and qualifications:

  • 8+ years' experience in electrical design which includes performing electrical calculations and equipment selection knowledge

  • Experience designing airfield lighting systems.

  • Experience designing electrical projects using AutoCAD MEP

  • Experience performing engineering tasks using design or engineering software and equipment

  • Experience with facility construction means and methods

  • Experience with using the National Electrical Code and other NFPA documents

  • Registered Professional Engineer (preferred, equivalent experience considered)

  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

The PM will interface with the government contracting officer representative (COR) and the government's aviation maintenance office management team. The PM is responsible for numerous aspects of the contract to include program execution, meeting or exceeding delivery objectives and milestones, and outstanding cost performance. Responsibilities * Develops and executes project schedules, formulates and enforces work standards , r eviews work discrepancies * Provides management oversight of all program personnel ensuring the highest quality of task completion and deliverables in accordance with the contract. * Supervises personnel, communicating policies, procedures, and goals to team members. * Acts as primary customer contact for program activities. Regularly meets with and updates the customer on project status. Leads program review sessions with customer to discuss cost schedule, and technical performance. * Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to program plan and schedule, identifies program risks and provides mitigation strategies. * Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customer and key stakeholders. * Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education and Experience * Bachelors degree in Aviation Management or related field. * 15 years of aviation operations and planning experience. * 5 years in program management roles. * Experience with organization System requirements reviews (SRR), Preliminary design reviews (PDR), Critical design reviews (CDR), Test readiness reviews (TRRs), and Technical interchanges meetings (TIMs) * Requires prior experience managing multiple fixed wing avionics and special mission sensors integrations * Prior ISR integration system integration on Beechcraft, Bombardier, Cessna, or Pilatus airframes experience is desired * Must have active Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility. Active Top Secret clearance is preferred * Superb communication skills and strong public speaking skills * Strong knowledge and understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) * Ability to travel to customer locations as needed * NF Security Clearance: Top Secret Alion Science And Technology Titusville FL
