Senior Electrical Engineer

A full service MEP consulting firm located in Chicago is looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to their team!

Job Description:

• Report to the Senior Manager and Project Manager on projects

• Perform field verification duties on the configuration and condition of existing electrical distribution, communication and life-safety systems

• Plan, develop, and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work including specifications, working drawings, reports, instructions, and other related documents within project scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements with little to no supervision

• Design of low voltage (<600V) power distribution, life safety, lighting, and communications systems

• Help plan, schedule, coordinate and oversee the work of junior level staff/contractors on projects

• Collaborate with clients, owners, contractors, code official and others through project completion to ensure

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited university

• Professional Engineering License with electrical specialty is required for this position

• 15 or more years of experience in low voltage (<1000V) power distribution and lighting design is required, medium voltage is a plus

• Experience working on commercial, high-rise residential and mission critical projects is highly preferred

• Knowledge of NEC, CBC, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1 codes required

• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; AGI32 and SKM Power Tools experience is highly preferred

• Accreditation/certification in sustainable design is a plus
