Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. We're looking for a passionate professional to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The right candidate will be an established Electrical and Electronics professional who troubleshoots technical and electrical device problems, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects.

Must be a commutable distance to Rockford, IL to work onsite.

This role is eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Circuit Board Level Requirements analysis and decomposition

• Sub-system and circuit design

• Circuit simulation and design verification test

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with IBM DOORS Requirements Management

• Experience with cadence design suite for schematic capture

• Experience with mixed Signal Design

• Receiver A/D Converters, Direct Digital Converters, Receiver D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal CCAs, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems.

• Experience with digital design: MUXs, gates, buffers, registers, ram memory, flash memory

• Ability to interface to Embedded Systems

• CPLDs, FPGAs

• Experience with Circuit Board Power Distribution

• Aircraft, Line Voltage, Low Voltage, High Current, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Monitoring Circuits, Isolation, Overcurrent Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems

• Experience with Power Conversion

• AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, 3 Phase conversion capability, Linear and Switching Supplies, PWM, and Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls

• Experience with Power Design

• Filter, Harmonic Control, EMI Suppression, Circuit Simulation, Overload, Short Circuit, Stress Analysis

• Experience with simulation tools: PSpice, MATLAB, VHDL Test Bench

• Mathematical ability and computer literacy

• The ability to analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components
