Senior E&I Project Engineering Coordinator

• This is a Seconded Position located onsite in Geismar, Louisiana.*

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the owner supplied material delivery schedule and work to ensure deliveries meet construction schedule.

• When necessary, interpret client requirements and communicate such to the contractor to meet the requirements for the Project and Manufacturing.

• Support the E/I Construction Lead to provide coordination of engineering, construction, and commissioning activities. Communicate non-conformances to E/I Construction Lead with schedule impact/cost impact information.

• Attend kick-off meetings with each contractor.

• Continuously promote safe work conditions and practices. Stop work, if necessary, to achieve required safety performance.

• Investigate and report construction accidents (w/safety manager).

• Participate in weekly Contractor Progress meetings.

• Assist in progress tracking of E/I scope.

• Resolve and respond to RFI's from the contractor as required (technical support from engineering will be available whenever needed)

• Coordinate to resolve all technical issues that arise during the Construction or Installation phase

• Maintain records of significant events during the project construction activity. Take progress photos on a periodic basis and during any significant event.

• Review contractor weekly manning and investigate manpower problems. For reimbursable contracts, maintain close attention to work practices and execution strategy to ensure proper techniques are utilized. Monitor productivity and work with contractor to make necessary adjustments.

• Review all E/I Field Change Orders to assure:

• Proper instructions are conveyed to contractor.

• Proper documentation of reason for change.

• Assure Cost engineering review.

• Coordinate work between contractors to eliminate disagreements and conflicts.

• Sign off and accept completed work from the contractor.

• Ensure all E/I scope is completed, punch-list items resolved, client materials returned, and contractor has removed all trash before releasing final payment and retention.

• Assist operations as required during plant start-up phase if requested to do so.

• Participate in disposition of surplus owner furnished materials.

• Participate in pre-startup safety audits.

• Assist in close out of construction contracts.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

• Experience and understanding of the project process and interactions required to execute and oversee a project.

• Experienced in construction/engineering installation.

• Ability to review vendor technical qualifications, approve vendor drawings and perform final equipment inspection.

• Understanding of Safety and Environmental requirements and can lead their integration into the design and facilitate the PSM process.

• Understanding of the constructability process and can ensure that engineering is construction driven.

• Effective communication skills to coordinate a diverse team of professionals.

• Experience to ensure quality is integrated into the design and that contractors follow the project quality process related to engineering.

• Field experience in construction or as a technical support role to construction preferred.

• Experience in the project closeout process and document control.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

• College degree or Associate's degree with relevant experience.

• Variety of experience in areas of Projects such as construction execution or Project Controls.

• Experience in the Operating and/or Maintenance departments.

• Proficiency in written communications and presentations.
