  • Compile and analyze economic and socioeconomic data; integrate data, analysis and other research findings into reports and presentations
  • Support economic analyses using IMPLAN, RIMS and other modeling tools
  • Maintain document and data integrity ; contribute to firm profitability by conducting assignments in an efficient and timely manner
  • Support marketing efforts by conducting high quality work and contributing to proposal development, lead tracking and strong client relationships
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to continuous improvement in daily processes and procedures
Ideally you have:
  • Bachelors degree in Economics or related field
  • Minimum five years of experience utilizing econometric modeling and analysis
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft programs
  • Highly developed and effective organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage confidential information and navigate changing priorities
  • Demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with IMPLAN, RIMS and other statistical software packages
  • A great sense of humor and great initiative!

KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. Responsibilities: * Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advising, planning, structuring and controversies * Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide relevant subject matter and industry knowledge and experience to internal and external clients * Review information presented on state income tax returns before, during and after preparation * Research and draft technical memoranda or slide decks regarding income, franchise, sales and use tax, and other state and local tax questions * Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings, and preparing protests * Help KPMG audit teams with review and analysis of state tax-related income and balance sheet items; Build and manage client relationships and supervise, mentor, and develop staff Qualifications: * A minimum of eight years of experience performing tax research, reviewing state income tax returns and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues specific to the asset management industry * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; CPA or JD/LLM * Ability to develop business and foster relationships both internally as well as with clients * Demonstrated ability to lead teams delivering state and local income tax compliance and/or consulting services * Ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment * Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management and tax research skills KPMG LLP (the U.S. member firm of KPMG International) offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
