About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Finance team as a Senior Director, Technical Accounting based in Shelton, CT. The Senior Director, Technical Accounting plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely external reporting processes, including future SEC reporting requirements including S-1, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and Proxy Statement, in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements as well as statutory and other private company requirements. This role will research and analyze complex accounting issues, directly collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant supporting information and prepare accounting conclusions to document the company's position on specific accounting matters.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Investigating financial accounting policy issues, recommending and implementing actions as appropriate.

• Provide technical accounting support across all functions for complex/significant matters, preparing/reviewing appropriate accounting documentation for review and approval.

• Cultivate strong partnerships across all functions including Finance, Legal, Regional, and Development.

• Lead the design and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.

• Identify, assess and improve financial accounting processes including accelerating and streamlining monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes.

• Establish, document and implement best-in-class financial and operational internal controls and/or assisting in control weakness remediation.

• Assist with audit preparation and assistance throughout audit process; assess opportunities to improve the audit timeline.

• Provide training to management and staff across the organization on technical accounting topics, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Years of experience: 8-10

• Active CPA required.

• Experience within a public company.

• Strong technical accounting experience and research capabilities.

• Extensive knowledge of SOX controls and requirements.

• Very strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing and management skills.

• Executive presence and ability to communicate with all levels of the company.

• Ability to work constructively and collaboratively under pressure.
