The Senior Director, Supply Chain and Development is responsible for managing the Supply Chain and Development groups, and associated processes, to ensure product lines are successfully launched to the market at a competitive cost and in a timely manner. This position will be responsible for the vendor base, sourcing, development, and operational execution of product launches and replenishments through our operation and into the market.


  • Manage the Supply Chain (Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, Order Management, and Embellishment), Quality, and Development teams from the execution of fabric adoption through tech pack handover, production, and into the warehouse for all product categories

  • Negotiate pricing, lead-times, MOQ and volume discounts with vendor partners

  • Build and maintain product life cycle calendars and hold vendors and internal team members accountable to deadline attainment

  • Manage seasonal delivery matrix to ensure sampling and production meet delivery deadlines

  • Manage vendor capacity planning to evaluate concentration risk by region, fabric class, volume, and product category

  • Guide SMU Development team to ensure customer requirements are executed during the product development stage

  • Lead the Order Management team driving on-time deliveries and reporting of order fulfillment rates / times

  • Drive revenue and profitability through increasing inventory turns and reducing excess inventory; this will be accomplished by implementing and maintaining the prescribed Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process

  • Report department performance, projects and calendar updates / deadlines to the Executive Team

  • Partner will cross functional teams and supply base to develop programs that reduce lead-times and optimize product and transportation costs

  • Develop processes within the business to streamline product development and supply chain practices, and effectively communicate and implement those processes within the business

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Expert understanding of product engineering, manufacturing processes (including automation) and garment timelines

  • Expert understanding of garment fit and how pattern alterations relate to fit

  • Highly proficient in garment manufacturing processes

  • Highly proficient in construction and fit for multiple and / or complex product

  • Highly proficient in pattern making process and grading

  • Expert in Supply Chain operations, with emphasis on Supply Planning and Procurement

  • Expert in Sales and Operations planning processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications

  • Proficient in SAP systems, particularly S/4 Hana

  • Proficient in PLM system(s)

  • Ability to coach / lead and collaborate at all organizational levels

  • Ability to interpret design intent and offer alternative solutions

  • Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines

  • Ability to problem and communicate all issues to applicable departments

  • Ability to travel internationally

  • Strong organizational skills


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a Supply Chain and Development leadership capacity

  • Experience leading lifestyle garment sourcing and development teams with monthly deliveries per season, including a high volume of SMU products

  • Experience leading a quality group that consists of both certified and source inspectors with staff located at the vendor base

  • SAP system experience required; implementation experience preferred

  • Sales and Operations process experience required; emphasis on reporting

  • Global vendor network experience required, inclusive of servicing international subsidiary sales regions and distributors


  • Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.

  • Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business-related machines and software.

  • International travel required

Supply Chain Development Manager The successful candidate will join the Procurement Operations department and will be in charge of implementing Recovery, Development and Assessment assignments at supplier sites. The candidate will use a variety of Airbus and Industry standardized tools and techniques. In order to deliver results in compliance with our business objectives, the successful candidates will be leading these assignments to: * Enhance supplier relationships by supporting them in building and delivering continuous improvement plans and/or roadmaps. * Deliver robustness throughout the Airbus supply chain including sub-tiers * Restore & secure supplier quality and on-time delivery to the required level * Improve supplier performance by implementing advanced actions * Improve Supply Chain efficiency by eliminating waste * Report regularly and managing feedback to internal customers and stakeholders * Contribute to anticipate recurring supplier quality issues and initiate preventive measures * Support the improvement of internal Airbus processes. The successful candidates must have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject area and a solid experience (5 to 10 years) preferably in one or more of the following areas: Procurement, Supply Chain, Program management, Manufacturing or Lean.
