Team Description

Our Business Strategy & Operations team sets and drives key business initiatives across the company. We complement and support product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams across three critical areas: corporate and business unit strategy, business planning and sales operations, and business systems and tools development.

Role Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Director of Strategy and Business Operations, reporting into Dropbox's VP of Strategy. You'll get to work on a wide range of strategic business projects across Pricing & Packaging, Go to Market, and Strategic Planning which have the potential to impact our entire $2B+ business. You'll gain significant exposure to our GM's, Chief Commercial Officer, Head of Growth, and other senior leaders across Dropbox.

You are an accomplished people manager, self-starter, and independent thinker; with exceptional analytical skills, capable of handling highly confidential information, while supporting a rapidly changing organization. You do not shy away from rolling up your sleeves or from building creative solutions to problems that have not yet been tackled. You recognize where end-to-end processes can be improved, and take the initiative to improve them.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to build a strong understanding of our products' value proposition and develop a packaging and pricing strategy for our suite of products

  • Manage strategic projects related to business initiatives across Dropbox; with a focus on innovative and customer-friendly approaches for go to market

  • Manage all facets (strategy, processes, systems, reporting) surrounding the pricing of products and collaborate with the deal desk on effective adoption of pricing guidelines

  • Monitor key metrics and market / competitive intelligence to derive insights and to identify opportunities for evolving pricing across our portfolio

  • Manage various non-technical initiatives of the Strategy team, including Pricing/Packaging and Competitive Analysis

  • Support our VP of Strategy on cross Dropbox Strategy, Strategic Planning, and Business Operations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Packaging & Pricing and/or Business Management (GM)

  • Ability to conduct data-rich analysis and to build consensus around recommendations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management

  • Extensive experience crafting monetization strategy and leading strategic pricing initiatives in the SaaS/subscription industry

  • Experience managing and running concurrent projects with complex stakeholder dynamics

  • A player / coach mentality that makes you excited to roll up your sleeves to advance projects directly, while also managing small high performing teams

Role Description As a Technical Program Manager at Dropbox you are responsible for making sure that engineering teams achieve success when striving to complete ambitious projects. You'll own the execution of strategic and impactful projects and initiatives across the Platform organization to help us meet our goals. We're looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience running large/cross-team projects and programs, expertise in stakeholder management, and the ability to quickly and creatively solve problems and unblock teams. You'll need to be able to engage deeply with engineering management to understand and present tradeoffs needed to deliver commitments against firm deadlines. We're looking for a self starter who will thrive in an often-times ambiguous environment and isn't afraid of a challenge. Responsibilities * Act as the point of contact and interface to engineering teams and business partners for strategic initiatives and feature development. * Conduct project planning, strategic alignment, and drive decision making across multiple teams. * Identify areas of improvement and be able to design repeatable processes to help teams work efficiently. * Have a balance of people, organizational, and technical skills to deliver and guide decision making without authority. * Provide ongoing visibility into the progress, risks, and timelines of projects against targeted deadlines. * Build clear and transparent communication channels to align internal stakeholders and ensure that relevant audiences receive accurate updates on programs and projects. * Collaborate with peers to design and implement standardized processes that help ensure consistency across the organization. * Work closely with software development teams to define, improve internal tools and processes key to engineering success. * Develop and execute on strategies to improve engineering processes and sustainability across the company. * Manage the release of key engineering projects to internal customers in a regular cadence. Requirements * 7-10+ years overall experience as a technical program manager in an engineering organization. * Experience driving diverse or company-wide programs. * Demonstrated ability and experience to influence, develop productive working relationships, and lead technical teams and key stakeholders from different business functions. * A diverse technical acumen--actively contribute to technical discussions, proactively identify challenges and risks, working closely with engineers and product manager on addressing challenges, and form mitigation plans. * You enjoy working on ambiguous problems and teasing out trade offs. * You have the ability to communicate complex plans effectively. * You are able to bring order to a complex situation with various stakeholders approaching a strategic problem in different ways. * Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
