Position Summary

The Strategic Initiatives & Operations Team helps to standardize activity within the Foundation, actively pursuing team goals and supporting an uplifting culture. The Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives & Operations will serve as a key resource and strategic visionary for the Foundation Team and the Executive Director in ensuring high-quality execution of all internal team functions, as outlined in detail in the description below.

The Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives & Operations will report to the Executive Director. Like all Dallas College Foundation employees, this individual is a keeper of the Dallas College Foundation culture of philanthropy.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven track record of proactivity and problem-solving.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage many different competing tasks.

  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and communicate clearly and effectively across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to monitor multiple processes for adherence to best practice.

  • Works toward meeting and exceeding personal and team goals and metrics.

  • Individuals with development experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on the implementation of Dallas College Foundation strategies and priorities, and team management strategy.

  • Serves as an important representative of Dallas College Foundation internally and externally.

  • Serve as staff liaison and point of contact for the Executive Committee, in conjunction with the Board & Donor Relations Director, and Executive Director as applicable.

  • Drive metric and goal establishment for Foundation & individual team members.

  • Monitor team and individual professional development growth.

  • Lead annual college-wide fundraising/campaign prioritization process.

  • Drive culture building within the Dallas College Foundation team.

  • Support the Executive Director in advancing Dallas College Foundation priorities and serving as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director.

  • Keeper of Foundation policies and procedures and ensure regular alignment with best practice.

  • Project manager and key internal lead on Dallas College Foundation projects and priorities, and team meetings.

  • Prioritize the Dallas College Foundation team and College requests for the Executive Director's attention; provide leadership to the Dallas College Foundation team in the Executive Director's absence.

  • Manage three (3) FTE employees.

  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.

  • Performs other job duties as required.

Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher and four (4) years of related experience plus experience in areas of responsibility described in this job description, including supervisory experience.

  • Must have a valid driver's license for off-site travel.

  • Work hours may extend beyond the typical eight hours, Monday-Friday, workday, including weekends and holidays to provide immediate support in exceptional cases.

  • Potential for some hybrid work.

  • Will be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.
