About this role:

The primary role of this position is Program Management of new technology development leading the Advanced Technology Group of R&D and managing our Global Research Funnel. The ATG group's purpose is to envision and evaluate new technologies to address unmet customer needs and forecasted regulatory mandates. This leadership role serves as a Program Manager and partners with business unit commercial functions to develop impactful product roadmaps, improve NPD project planning and execution, and achieve well-executed new product introductions. It is responsible for the development and maintenance of projects and programs that include product conception, definition, design, and release to the R&D Project Management Office for New Product Development. The Director will coordinate global cross-functional team members' activities to bring new technologies forward to new product development within the R&D function, and reports directly to the Vice President, Innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize Voice of Customer, Voice of Sales, market trends, technical trends, and internal and external technical competencies to assess research opportunities and risk

  • Develops a prioritized roadmap of valuable customer problems to solve that require new technical innovations and deploys resources appropriately.

  • Manage the technical and market risk portfolio of the research program ensuring the right balance of projects and technologies.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with all commercial functions to ensure alignment on the top research focused problems to solve and the technical approaches.

  • Ability to develop research project structure that both enables progress but maintains the fail-fast mentality approach throughout

  • Manages stakeholder communication from individual contributor level to senior level management on project status, issues, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering or the physical sciences required, MS or Ph.D. preferred.

  • MS, MA, or MBA in business, marketing, engineering, or technology management preferred.

  • Experience in a product development, engineering, or manufacturing environment with a $500 million+ company.

  • Working knowledge of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) Technology development and phase-gate new product development processes.

  • Broad understanding of products and processes, including design, manufacturing, and market use of products.

  • Project management of product development projects from concept through commercialization required. PMP certification desired.

This leadership role in our innovation group will enjoy a significant commitment to future growth in our organization. We are seeking a candidate with aspiration and a deep desire to grow.

The salary range for this role is $190,000 - 220,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
