Senior Director, Pre-Sales Solution Architects

New Relic's Presales Solution Architect organization partners with our largest and most strategic customers to advise them on how to apply the New Relic platform in support of their initiatives and teams. We evangelize our strategic direction and vision, and collaborate with our Product organization to incorporate key insights from the field into our roadmap. Our team-members are technically savvy, commercially minded and passionate about our customer's success.
We are now looking to grow the organization by adding a trailblazer to lead and coach this incredible team. As Senior Director, Presales Solution Architect, you will define & improve the methods used by our team to continue our success through a period of exponential growth, mentoring your team to reach even greater heights.
How do you know if you'll be successful in this role? You have a consistent track record of building and developing technical sales teams and has worked extensively as a pre-sales consultant. You also have the correct mix of business savvy, technical prowess and a hands-on leader.
What You'll Do
Create deep and meaningful relationships with our customers in the role of Executive Technical Sponsor
Collaborate with your team on how to tackle sophisticated customer use cases
Drive customer success by providing oversight, adoption recommendations, opportunities for greater service
Develop and mentor Solution Architects to ensure that customers are blown away by the quality of our delivery and support
Communicate proactively with customers and internally within your team, handling risks and issues, and escalating upwards as needed
Solve tricky integration and product questions/issues and oversee resolutions with field teams, R&D and Customer Support
Partner with Sales to identify revenue prospects and opportunities to increase our high value service impact
10+ years of technical pre sales experience with at least 5+ years experience of people management
Track record of building high performing technical sales teams
Strong background of working in a customer-facing environment and driving initiatives to improving customer satisfaction
Attention to detail, with the ability to set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Specific experience in Monitoring and Observability concepts
Software Engineering, DevOps, SRE or TechOps experience
Experience with Public Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, Google)
Clear understanding of network & system management solutions
Background in mobile device platforms & architectures (IOS & Android)
Excellent communication, critical thinking & analytical skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
