Senior Director of Sponsorship Sales

THE SPORTS CIRCUS is seeking a Senior Director of Sponsorship Sales. This role will create and sell branded, high-impact sponsorship opportunities and act as a trusted representative for one of the most unique, syndicated sports talk radio shows on-air today, in prime time.

You will champion the value of THE SPORTS CIRCUS brand, its events, and platforms to create revenue-generating opportunities. You will engage data, research, your own creativity, and sales acumen in order to develop unique and valuable sponsorship programs to top brands and partners.

THE SPORTS CIRCUS Sponsorship Sales team shall be built by the Senior Director of Sponsorship Sales. This team will be a group of talented, successful, and sales professionals, unified in their passion for THE SPORTS CIRCUS brand. You should be a dedicated and disciplined THE SPORTS CIRCUS advocate, engaged with all things across its many platforms, in order to authentically speak to its value proposition and deliver incredible programs to sponsors.


Secure sponsors and strategic partnerships for THE SPORTS CIRCUS spanning on-air broadcasts, special events, branded content, original content, and a variety of creative experiences championing THE SPORTS CIRCUS brand

Reach sponsorship sales goals by securing lasting and high value partnerships with top partners

Champion the value and reach of THE SPORTS CIRCUS to potential partners and sponsor targets, engaging research, market knowledge, and your sincere passion for the power of sports radio and live entertainment

Drive full lifecycle of sponsorship sales process from identifying potential partners to contract fulfillment

Develop and maintain trusting relationships with key decision makers and respective advertising agencies of current and potential partners

Create innovative strategic partnership programs that exceed partners expectations and brand goals, aiming for integrated packages encompassing all mediums experiential, social media, corporate, venue assets, etc.

Lead the development and delivery of proposals, providing clear guidance and requirements to THE SPORTS CIRCUS media kit and guidelines

Manage complex negotiations with credibility and cautiousness, incorporating all perspectives as well as legal and financial ramifications

Collaborate with sponsor targets to align and leverage sales efforts together to drive value-adds

Oversee legal and financial fulfillment of client agreements, ensuring accurate execution, superior client experience, and timely receivables for THE SPORTS CIRCUS

Fulfill reporting needs for clients, including but limited to forecasting, sales, and pipeline reports


Great history of creating high value sponsorship programs for the radio market, large-scale live events, teams, brands, and/or professional leagues

Passion for the sports and entertainment space: you are knowledgeable and curious about the goings-on of new venues, festivals, and their media coverage, and other happenings in the sports world that no other radio shows cover

Active long-term and trusting relationships with decision makers at industry-relevant companies

Excellent application and knowledge of sponsorships and brand activation

Well-versed in complex and nuanced broadcast contract negotiations involving, but not limited to venues, talent, sponsors, brands, agencies, media, and distribution rights

Self-motivated, resourceful individual with a strong working knowledge of the digital, mobile and social media spaces and how marketers are utilizing these platforms

Ability to understand and work within a variety of different business models/revenue models

THE SPORTS CIRCUS has one of the most aggressive commission compensation plans in the business. We believe is high commissions and no draw or salaries. Our philosophy is: You eat what you kill and eat very well! You make well over $200,000 (plus bonus override from the sales team you build) in this position. No other known radio show pays the level of commissions!

The appropriate candidate is adept in getting to key marketing decision makers (CMO's, marketing directors, etc.) in the quest for new business with an emphasis on developing new sponsorship revenue across Sirius XM's ad inserted channels. Responsible for the full sales cycle of advertising sales, and maximizing Sirius XM's revenue opportunities. Provides customer service to existing clients to maintain and develop business relationships. Duties and Responsibilities: * Generates leads, targets prospective clients and obtains meetings to make pitches and presentations. * Responds to and follows-up on sales inquiries in a timely and attentive manner. * Works with prospects to determine advertising needs and creates proposals that actively address client needs. * Consistently closes deals. * Identifies the most appropriate Sirius XM advertising formats for clients and makes recommendations for appropriate channels, programs and time slots. * Negotiates and sells advertising time to national advertisers and ad agencies, using corporate pricing parameters. * Communicates advertising and contract arrangements to the client. Supervisory Responsibilities: * None. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience. * 4 - 6 years of ad sales experience in a media/digital or broadcasting organization. Requirements and General Skills: * Demonstrated success with conceptual and consultative selling. * Demonstrated success in meeting annual budget and revenue goals. * Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. * Impeccable written and verbal communication skills. * Well-developed persuasion and influence skills; persistent and disciplined with client follow up. * Strong customer service skills; ability to build productive and trusting relationships with clients. * Detail-oriented. * Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced and matrixed work environment. * Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to take on responsibility. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to national clients. * Possess a valid driver's license. * Must have legal right to work in the U.S. Technical Skills: * Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
