PRIMARY FUNCTION: The position of Senior Director of Special Projects and Initiatives is a critical role in the Office of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance.

The Senior Director of Special Projects and Initiatives works to support the execution of key initiatives linked to the districts strategic plan. They are responsible for coordination of high-priority, transformative projects from concept to implementation in support of advancing the district. The Senior Director of Special Projects and Initiatives is tasked with developing and implementing key actions to build leadership capacity throughout the organization.

Additionally, the Senior Director of Special Projects and Initiatives will work with the Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance to execute special projects. REPORTS TO: Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance SALARY SCHEDULE:

A-3 WORK DAYS: 250 REQUIREMENTS: Educational Level: Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience, Skill and Certification: Eligible for Georgia Support License for the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Multi-year senior level administrator (principal/director) experience in a P-12 educational setting Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with all District leaders. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and the general public, both verbally and in writing.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and sustain positive, effective work relationships with staff and the general public. Flexibility to work effectively both independently and in teams, with a proven ability to work with various stakeholders to reach consensus. Sophisticated organizational skills.

Proficiency with various forms of technology and various software platforms and Internet database. Preferred: Experience in a large urban system characterized by multi- ethnic and cultural diversity and project management experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Lead plan and facilitate capacity building to ensure successful strategic initiative implementation and management. Identify success criteria for strategic initiatives throughout the initiative's life cycle. Support the Deputy Superintendent of Strategy Innovation and Performance in organizing and executing executive level strategic planning sessions.

Conduct research and analysis to inform project development and decision-making. Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships, to support special projects and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with the Director of Research and Evaluation to establish evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of strategic initiatives.

Prepare and present regular status reports to the Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance. Manage and/or support projects to enhance the effectiveness of the Office of Strategy Innovation and Performance. Monitor changes to special project and strategic initiatives scope, identify potential risks and devise mitigation and contingency plans.

Serve as a liaison with special project stakeholders on an on-going basis. Terms of Employment Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on Grade A-3 and allowable experience as determined by Human Resources. The work calendar will be 250-days.
