SUMMARY:

Reporting to the President of the company, the Senior Director of Operations is responsible to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities for all of the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient processes, procedures, and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and manage KPI's for productivity, safety, and LEAN manufacturing

  • Implement standardization across two manufacturing plants

  • Collaborates with leadership to develop and meet company goals to achieve targets

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials

  • Manages production, logistics, inventory control, maintenance, and production scheduling

  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution

  • Establishes and controls conditions of production to satisfy customer and quality specifications; works closely with Engineering and Quality Control in root cause analysis when necessary

  • Establishes and administers the department's budget

  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided

  • Other duties as assigned

?SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and manufacturing best practices in the industry

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Ability & willingness to support multiple manufacturing facilities

  • Proven track record of effective training & mentoring of others

  • Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles, experience, passion & demonstrated track record of implementation

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects with established project management skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, or other industry-related field

  • 6 or more years in a senior leadership role

  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in developing budgets and business plans

  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (ex: ERP, CRM)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move about a large manufacturing facility.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Time is spent equally between a typical office environment and a manufacturing environment with no major sources of discomfort. Essentially normal controlled working environments with noise levels within acceptable safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.

U.S. Government Security Clearance at the appropriate level
