Advancement of a Culture Focused on Academics and Equity:

Lead the charge in fostering a culture centered on academic excellence and equity. Define strategies to drive educational equity across our network, allocate resources and programs strategically, and ensure alignment with individualized campus plans. Additionally, develop and monitor the implementation of robust strategic plans, including PBL Works and summer programming initiatives for all High school campuses.

Management of Instructional Leadership Teams:

Instrumental in managing and guiding instructional leadership teams, providing coaching and support to school directors to ensure alignment with campus plans and student-centered coaching practices. Your leadership will be pivotal in advancing a talent-focused culture that nurtures professional growth and development among instructional staff.

Measurement and Improvement of Teaching and Learning:

Oversee the measurement and improvement of teaching and learning outcomes, driving continuous enhancement through data-informed decision-making. By studying trends in employee feedback data, identify key areas for improvement and collaborate with the Chief Academic Officer to implement enhancements that elevate teaching quality and student learning experiences.

Performance Evaluation and Career Development:

Play a critical role in determining improvements to performance evaluation processes, ensuring alignment with our mission and values. Furthermore, collaborate with management and leadership teams to develop comprehensive succession plans for key academic positions, mentoring and empowering novice and aspiring instructional leaders to advance within our network and seize new opportunities for growth and success.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and development of high school academic strategy based on campus strategic plans

  • Play a key role in ensuring curriculum, instructional practices, and assessments are appropriately aligned and executed

  • Use insight from student performance data across the schools to inform continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, and assessments, incorporating input from school directors

  • Elevate challenges that arise with the academic model and work with the Chief Academic Office to inform and improve the model (by providing viable solutions to complex problems)

  • Promote the advancement of a culture focused on academics and equity

  • Determine the optimal approach to drive educational equity across the network and allocate resources and programs accordingly

  • Develop and progress monitor high schools plan in alignment with individualized Campus Plans

  • Develop and progress monitor PBL works strategic and implementation plan for all high school campuses

  • Develop strategy and progress monitor summer programming for high school campuses

  • Management of instructional leadership teams

  • Measurement and improvement of teaching and learning

  • Coach and support school directors and instructional leadership teams through campus plan and student-centered coaching

  • Professional learning and development of instructional staff

  • Advancement of talent-focused culture

  • Study trends in employee feedback data to determine key areas of strength and improvement and recommend improvements to the Chief Academic Officer

  • Career path and succession planning

  • Collaborate with management and leadership teams to develop succession plans for priority academic positions

  • Mentor novice and aspiring instructional leaders to grow within current roles and to seek stretch opportunities to advance within the network

  • Advise performance evaluations

  • Determine improvements to the performance evaluation system that supports the development of teachers and other academic leaders

  • Design strong competency-based professional development

  • Ensures that instructional leadership teams can coach and mentor campus instructional staff to improve student outcomes

  • Assess the impact of professional development and continuously improve based on performance data and knowledge of promising field practices

  • Develop instructional leadership teams' capacity to deliver feedback and manage difficult conversations

  • Structure, sequences and delivers program-specific professional development to ensure effective program implementation (includes but not limited to):

  • School Director Development (Instruction)

  • Instructional Leadership Team Development

  • New Teacher Development

  • Campus-Based Teacher Development

  • Project Based Learning

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Master's degree required

  • School Leadership and/or Central Office administration experience required

  • Currently possess Michigan Administrator Certificate (Central Office endorsed preferred)

Experience

  • Capacity to support curriculum implementation preferred

  • Leadership in driving the implementation of research-based curriculum

  • Developing and delivering high-quality professional development

  • Competence in project-based learning and student-centered coaching

  • Can lead others to complete multi-faceted projects

  • Experience leading major initiatives from concept to implementation

  • Experience executing and implementing highly impactful strategy

Skills

  • Strong executive presence and leadership skills

  • Ability to perceive, interpret, demonstrate, control, evaluate, and use emotions to communicate with and relate to others effectively and constructively

  • Ability to motivate/influence others to outcomes

  • Successfully lead teams through adaptive and complex change
