Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Data and Analytics to lead our

organization's IT data, integration and analytics strategy and initiatives. As the Senior Director of Data and Analytics, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection, integration, governance, and utilization of data across our healthcare organization. Your expertise in AI, ML, data management, analytics, and technology will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making and improving patient care outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive data, integration and analytics strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. Create, implement, execute, and manage conceptual and technical strategies for sourcing of new data to, and from, data source (EHRs, Oracle, etc.) and repository systems (i.e. GCP); participate in the organizational data and analytics strategy by advising and providing thought leadership for data island analytics.

  • Data Governance: Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making by promoting a data-driven culture throughout the organization. Oversee the development and implementation of data analytics frameworks and tools to derive actionable insights from large and complex datasets.

  • Operations Management: Lead the design and implementation of data collection, integration, and storage systems to support efficient and accurate data management processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical informatics, and operations, to identify data requirements and ensure data availability for various stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of data professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to foster their professional growth and ensure the successful execution of data and analytics initiatives. Set performance goals, provide guidance, and conduct regular performance evaluations; foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Stakeholder and Vendor Engagement: Facilitate the coordination and collaboration of organizational data stakeholders, IT professionals, and vendor partners to define and implement data and analytics solutions that meet multiple business needs/use cases; evangelize and promote shared data integration platform services across all products, enable APIs for easy adoption and create strong alignment between teams; maintain strong relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and organizational leadership. Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and industry experts to leverage their expertise and stay at the forefront of data and analytics practices in the healthcare industry

  • Security and Privacy Compliance: Oversee activities to define and document data integration controls that uphold data security and privacy standards; ensure that healthcare data exchanged through integrations adheres to privacy and security regulations, such as HIPAA and HITECH; mitigate data integration related risks and develop business continuity/disaster recovery plans.

  • Advocate Innovation: Lead the integration of AI and other innovative technologies into the organization's data and analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Set the strategic direction for best-in-class data and analytics platforms and Enterprise APIs Management Platforms practices; foster an environment of innovation, driving the adoption of new technologies to enhance the capabilities of data integration platforms; stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data integration platforms and API implementation/management.

  • Data Science: Collaborate with data scientists and technology teams to identify opportunities for leveraging AI and machine learning algorithms to enhance data management processes, such as data cleansing, data integration, and data analysis.

  • AI and ML: Oversee the ethical and responsible use of AI technologies, ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in algorithmic decision-making processes. Stay up-to-date with advancements in AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and other innovative technologies relevant to data and analytics in healthcare. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement using AI and other innovative technologies. Establish partnerships with external organizations, research institutions, and technology vendors to leverage their expertise and stay at the forefront of AI and innovative technology applications in healthcare data and analytics.

Provide leadership and guidance to the data and analytics teams in adopting and implementing AI and other innovative technologies, ensuring proper training and support for successful integration of AI technologies. Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of AI and innovative technology initiatives, measuring key performance indicators and making recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, privacy laws, and ethical guidelines when utilizing AI and innovative technologies in data management processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of healthcare data and/or healthcare revenue cycle experience working with large-scale provider data sets - including methodologies, technologies and terminologies for data transformation in the cloud.
  • 8+ years hands-on experience with designing and implementing data analytics strategies; defining the right patterns and practices in response to the data coming in is a must
  • 3+ years interface engine management skills including experience with pipeline orchestration tools, logging, monitoring & alerting, deep troubleshooting, and automated testing & deployments (CI/CD)
  • 5+ years working in all phases of full data integrations life cycle development: requirements, architecture, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance

Strong understanding and experience with:

  • 7+ years MIRTH, Rhapsody+ (Kafka, API)

  • 5+ years HL7/FHIR

  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience at a manager or above

  • 2+ years of Google Cloud Platform data and analytics development

  • 3+ years EHRs (Cerner, MedHost)

Preferred Experience:

  • 10+ years of healthcare data and/or healthcare revenue cycle experience working with large-scale provider data sets - including methodologies, technologies and terminologies for data transformation in GCP.
  • 10+ years working in all phases of full data integrations life cycle development: requirements, architecture, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance

GCP Certified Digital Leader

Preferred License/Registration/Certification: Certified API Manager, Certified Information Systems
