Position Summary
The Senior Director of Airport Property Development (internal title: Senior Director of Real Estate) will lead a team responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of growth real estate construction projects from land identification, lease execution, design, contractor selection, and project management through to certificate of occupancy. The primary infrastructure overseen is aircraft storage hangars, airfield tarmac, and FBO terminals / offices. The Senior Director will be responsible for all of Jet Aviations leases including negotiations and ensuring lease commitments are being tracked and met. The role will actively engage with the industry to keep a database of hangar availability to support Jet Aviations managed fleet. This is an on-site role out of our Teterboro, NJ location at the Teterboro Airpark. The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range will be as follows: $114,700 $170,000.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree
At least 10 years of relevant work experience in an airport construction environment
Experience in building and managing project budgets of $10MM+, including airport hangar FBO projects
At least 5 years experience in building projects in collaboration with airport authorities and FAA coordination (e.g. 7460 permits, environmental, CATEX, etc.)
Thorough understanding of principles, concepts, internal business objectives and good industry knowledge of real estate/facilities management and project management
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Advanced analytical skills
Strong project management experience
Experience in leading functional/cross functional initiatives
Main Responsibilities
Lead team actively managing Jet Aviations construction projects serving as coordination point for all parties involved (business stakeholders, vendors, airports, contractors, etc.)
Planning and management of construction budgets and timelines to ensure projects are delivered within the projects cost expectations; Actively anticipate overages and identify areas of saving
Support all business cases for projects by providing construction cost estimates and site planning recommendations based on industry experience to optimize facility layout
Understand and manage all of Jet Aviations leases including negotiation of agreements, pursuit of extension to certain leases, and tracking of all lease commitments.
Identify and maintain an active database of hangar space available throughout the US in support of Jet Aviations managed fleet of aircraft
Ad hoc duties, as required, to support the companies Real Estate portfolio
Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network
