Actual salary to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant combined with location and alignment with market data.

Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting will delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting department tasks, oversee the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information, hire, train, and motivate accounting staff members, develop, and implement department controls and procedures, and ensure that the department operates efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.

This role will oversee a staff of 15, plan and direct all aspects of accounting, budgeting, reporting, preparation and internal controls by performing the following duties.

Directs and guides the overall accounting functions of the Company, specifically oversight of the Corporate Accounting Department, the U.S. based Operational Accounting Department, and work closely with foreign counterparts to ensure proper U.S. Corporate accounting policies and financial reporting formats and deadlines are followed.Establishes and maintains the Company's accounting principles, policies, procedures, and initiatives. Monitors changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance is routinely being followed.

Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Review and enhance existing control processes, procedures, and policies to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.

Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Lead the preparation and filing/submission of financial reports in compliance with U.S. GAAP to internal constituents and financial sponsors.

Coordinate with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process.

Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments including Information Technology, Tax, Treasury, FP&A and Legal, as well as with finance staff at foreign affiliates.

Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting and financial reporting teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Essential Functions Include:

Manage all accounting functions including consolidations, corporate and operational.

Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to senior management and financial sponsors.

Research technical accounting issues for compliance.

Have a working knowledge of all financial aspects of the Credit Agreement to understand terms, conditions, and financial covenants imposed by the new lending syndicate, and ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements stipulated in the Credit Agreement.

Collaborate with internal legal counsel and senior finance management to interpret clauses and obligations accurately.

Work closely with Treasury in preparing monthly actual financial covenant calculations as required in the Credit Agreement by the new lending syndicate. Develop forecasts and projections to anticipate potential covenant issues and propose corrective actions if necessary.

Develop, document, implement and enforce policies and procedures relating to U.S. GAAP accounting and maintenance and strengthening of internal controls.

Participate in review and tracking of monthly controller checklists and balance sheet reconciliations with the Corporate Accounting staff.

Auditing: Coordinates preparation of external audit and external financial reporting.

Process Improvement: Establish reporting and controls regarding implementation of new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.

Collaborate regularly with Information Technology to ensure systems are effectively fulfilling their intended objectives.

The Senior Director will assume other responsibilities as assigned by the SVP Finance and CFO.

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Accounting Director/Finance Leader in a medium to large sized multi-national company.• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, including demonstrated experience in a managerial or leadership role.• Bachelor or Graduate degree in Accounting required• CPA or CMA preferred• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures• Experience in preparing consolidations and creating financial statements• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.• Expert accounting software user with outstanding administration skills, including Excel, Powerpoint and various financial reporting tools. Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred but not required.
