Job Summary- Senior, Director Non-Clinical Sourcing

Senior Director of Non-Clinical Sourcing provides strategic direction for all non-clinical sourcing (less clinical services), non-clinical contracting (less clinical services and capital), and Supplier Performance Management (SPM) activities across Corewell Health. The Senior Director, Non-Clinical Sourcing works with business stakeholders to meet annual system cost savings and avoidance goals while ensuring that the non-clinical products and services selected meet the organization's requirements. In addition, the role is responsible for identifying and maintaining strong supplier relationships, leading quarterly category planning activities, achieving Supplier Performance Management goals, adhering to Supply Chain Services policies/procedures, and ensuring that the Supplier Performance Management (SPM) team and sourcing teams work together to achieve organizational objectives. The Senior Director, Non-Clinical Sourcing works with executive leadership, both inside and outside of Supply Chain, to define strategic goals capable of delivering on committed savings targets. He/she is also responsible for developing and maintaining supplier partnerships, achieving value creation, supplier rationalization and mitigating risk across Supply Chain. In addition, The Senior Director, Non-Clinical Sourcing, is accountable for developing and actioning supplier diversity, sustainability, and risk strategies. In this role, the Senior Director, Non-Clinical Sourcing is accountable for leading a cross-functional Supply Chain team of business team members focused on elevating the reputation and credibility of Corewell Health Supply Chain.

The Senior Director of Non-Clinical Sourcing is also responsible for representing Supply Chain, both internally and externally, on behalf of Corewell Health. This role is required to demonstrate strong, visionary leadership skills as well as an ability to bring disparate teams together to achieve common goals. The Senior Director of Non-Clinical Sourcing will leverage benchmarking and external datapoints to build a leading non-clinical sourcing team while continuously working to find new ways to bring additional value to our ultimate customer: the patient.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for non-clinical spend (less clinical services and capital) across the Corwell Health System including digital services, Priority Health, finance, professional services and facilities and construction.

  • Responsible for assisting business leaders (both clinical and non-clinical) to achieve annual cost, performance, and quality goals.

  • Sets strategy for and leads Supplier Performance Management team through process improvement opportunities.

  • Both build and maintain strong supplier relationships rooted in trust and transparency focused on value creation and the delivery of best-in-class pricing for the organization.

  • Works primarily with non-clinical suppliers to achieve department-level strategies, reduce costs, eliminate variation, and mitigate supply risks.

  • Required to work directly and through the Supply Chain team to develop strong internal stakeholder relationships to gain an understanding of business requirements and needs.

  • Establishes quantifiable, meaningful team metrics and goals. Holds team accountable to meeting their goals as defined.

  • Leads with professionalism at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership skills in times of conflict.

  • Serves as a point of escalation, able and willing to bring concerns and challenges to the attention of the SVP, Supply Chain.

  • Adheres by and leverages team standards and resources.

Qualifications

  • Required bachelor's degree or equivalent Supply Chain Management, Business or related.

  • Preferred master's degree or equivalent MBA.

  • 7 years of relevant experience Required.

  • Progressively responsible leadership experience, preferably in Supply Chain or Procurement Required.

  • Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to Spectrum Health Required.

  • Demonstrated experience managing a large team with preference for experience in overseeing strategic sourcing functions Required.

  • Professional in Supply Management, Certified preferred.
