The position requires a deep understanding of payer environment (both medical and pharmacy benefit) and market conditions that affect pricing and access for Jazz products in the relevant therapeutic areas and the pharmaceutical industry. This position will help formulate and drive a variety of key authorized generics branded therapeutics market access strategic planning initiatives working with key internal stakeholder groups including Global Molecule Leads, Legal, Franchise Leads, Brand Teams, Forecasting and Commercial Operations, and all Market Access functional teams. We are looking for a self-motivated, strategically agile and proven collaborator to join the Market Access team reporting directly to the Vice President of Market Access.
Portfolio Product Strategy: Including Authorized Generics Planning, and Execution
Organize and lead a cross-functional team preparing for, and implementing, the company's responsibilities as it relates to authorized generics and generics overall.
Support the Portfolio Management strategy by collaborating with various cross-functional stakeholders, including Market Access analytics, forecasting, and business strategy to provide financial analysis on market access influence on portfolio options for market entry of authorized generic and generic entrants with clear line of sight to patients and strategic objectives.
Manage the company's authorized generic partner relationships, both pre- and post-implementation of authorized generic product supply, including coordination of forecast and supply plans, as well as driving project plans to meet ongoing obligations.
Assist relevant internal functional groups with authorized generic-related contracts, financial monitoring and reporting, development and implementation of regulatory strategy, coordination with central pharmacy distribution through the company's REMS, manufacturing and supply chain planning and execution and related tasks as necessary or requested
Work cross-functionally to update the 3-5-year market access plan that feeds into brand Forecasting and corporate LRP (Long Range Plan)
Provide insight and data to Brand forecasts and to corporate level LRP (Long Range Plan) model to inform authorized generics scenario planning to assess impact to Jazz.
Work with Market Access Pricing & Contracting to coordinate and assess authorized generic influence on contract and pricing in support of development of innovative brand strategies
Align with Market Access, Brand Team and Finance to contribute to the development of segment-specific insight and modeling
Operational excellence oversight in Brand planning, Corporate planning
Ensure alignment with Market Access marketing and collaborate on the strategic planning process for Market Access department in support of new product entrants through partnering with Global Molecule Teams, Franchise Teams and Brand teams on development of molecule and franchise P&L's
Collaborate with Market Access Analytics to contribute to analytical assessment and provide support, interpretations and recommendations on key product access insights to feed into strategic planning process, MALT strategic discussions, and QBR reviews.
Drive coordination with Market Access marketing leads to ensure organization and create consistent process, framework, and approach to launch planning. Ensure relevant goals and KPI's are identified and that measurement. Collaborate across MALT and Global Value & Access organization to ensure aligned strategic plan.
Experience Required for Success:
Knowledge of and experience with authorized generics and generics and with specialty pharmacy distribution in the orphan and biotech segments
Informed and current in managed care, reimbursement environment, federal and state regulations
Strategic planning experience with either long term strategic planning, or corporate strategy development, including development of analytics (models) and presentation materials (slides) for executive level discussions
Experience in both the financial/quantitative aspects of forecasting and long-term planning as well as the strategic/qualitative aspects. Prior experience participating, or leading strategic planning activities preferred
Forecasting experience with understanding of market access influencers on projections
Launch experience and cross-functional planning.
Ability to align stakeholders to a decision and to spur aligned planning and execution.
Superb analytic skills, with demonstrated experience in financial modelling
Comfortable developing and interpreting long term financial models (P&L) as well as the development of ad-hoc analyses to help support business needs
Strong strategic thinker with experience and ability to develop and articulate complex strategic issues and ideas
Able to both verbally articulate business rationale and have strong PowerPoint skills to develop thorough content for communication of business issues
Ability to nimbly work on multiple projects with overlapping timelines and meet all deadlines. Ability to quickly digest and prioritize information.
Exceptional Project Management skills and quantifiable results with leading and supporting business strategy projects
Demonstrated team leadership skills and strong sense of accountability in a cross functional setting through influence management across multiple levels
Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint with sound ability in Access or equivalent and Tableau or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in life sciences and MBA strongly preferred
5-7 years of experience in generic, orphan or biotech industry in strategy or experience in product planning related roles
Following Experiences Considered a Significant Plus:
Strong knowledge of Hatch-Waxman Act, generic-drug Paragraph IV rules specific to 180 days market exclusivity and bioequivalence rules
Thorough understanding of market access landscape, trends, and reimbursement. Market Access experience from strategy development, contracting and launch planning
Understanding of Market Access and healthcare delivery as it relates to Specialty Biologics distribution models
