Warby Parker is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Director of Manufacturing. In this role, you will oversee operations at multiple company-owned production facilities, manage key external manufacturing relationships, and ensure orders are produced safely at the right quality, time, and cost. In this position, you will lead a best-in-class manufacturing team, set the operational strategy, drive continuous improvement, and oversee the production and fulfillment activities of every pair of Warby Parker frames. A key contributor to our strategic and financial plans, you will partner cross-functionally to determine strategic initiatives that may involve scaling our network, making key investments in automation, and finding innovative ways to drive efficiency. What you'll do:
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure we are meeting or exceeding key metrics related to safety, quality, fulfillment time, cost, and inventory to accomplish company goals
Research and implement cutting-edge technology, processes, and strategies that could significantly impact our metrics and team effectiveness
Design and execute a long term strategic vision for our manufacturing network with a focus on capacity, optimal cost structure, and efficiency
Leverage operational and cross functional departments (including finance, customer service, production, and employee management) as well as data analytics tools and software applications to drive results and collaborate on strategic projects
Support the execution of new product launches by providing technical assessment, cost estimates, and potential capital expenditures (CapEx)
Streamline and implement new structures, processes, and roles that create speed and efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
Develop key metrics and tracking routines to ensure the team is accountable for the manufacturing budget, including CapEx
Manage and develop a highly engaged team, including two manufacturing site directors as well as a corporate team, ensuring the proper organizational structure to track results and execute projects collaboratively
Who you are:
Backed by a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or a related field
Equipped with 11+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations and/or supply chain management over multiple sites
Armed with a proven track record of developing, coaching, training, and retaining top talent with high levels of engagement
Able to collaborate with senior leaders and work collectively to achieve business goals
A strategic thinker and strong cross-functional collaborator who communicates effectively online and in person
Able to lift up to 25 lbs
Not on the Officer of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
Travel:
Up to 25% of your time will be spent traveling and at our Las Vegas optical lab
Expect to work 3 days per week from our NYC headquarters and 2 days per week from our Sloatsburg, NY optical lab-you'll be an essential team player, on the ground in several places!
Extra credit
An advanced engineering degree and/or Lean Six Sigma certification
