In this newly crafted position for Precision for Medicine, Laboratory Services, you will head the new cell biology laboratory we are building out of our existing Germany facility, including the rare opportunity to recruit and hire your team. The laboratory will focus on running groundbreaking flow cytometry assays and varied cell based assays, as well as providing support services for processing clinical samples and managing a small biorepository of clinical specimens.
You will implement protocols to the same high standards, from Precision laboratories globally, who are already supporting global clinical studies. New protocols and studies will also be derived and supported by your team. You will present data to our clients and manage expectations and timelines. Key components will be focused on, design and development of innovative qualified and validated and antigen specific (ELISPot/Fluorospot) or other cell based assays and molecular assays such as Nanostring.
You will recruit and grow your team of local industry professionals. Critical to our success is your achievement of training and mentoring junior staff in laboratory techniques and in the analysis and presentation of data, as well as implementation of new technology and assays. A key component of success will be timely execution of client deliverables. Responsible for recruiting, growing and developing a team of cell biologists to provide cutting edge assays to deliver translational research data for our clinical studies in the areas of Oncology, Autoimmunity, Neuroscience and Rare and Orphan Diseases. Successful incumbent will have regulated, commercial or clinical environment experience.
This newly crafted position is critical in positioning our organization to achieve goals of delivering exceptional translational medicine services to our diverse, innovative and global biopharmaceutical clients.
Minimum Required: PhD or Master's Degree in the life sciences with proven experience in flow cytometry techniques, scientific and/or technical writing
Experience working in a biological laboratory and independently driving scientific projects. (i.e. demonstrable skills at proposing and executing solutions for scientific challenges)
Experience working in a regulated laboratory e.g. GxP, ISO, CAP or CLIA
Strong analytical skills and expertise in scientific analysis
Understands evolving scientific, market and regulatory trends as well as the current and future needs in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry
Proven ability to build and mentor a team
Successful history communicating and working with both scientific and administrative staff
A trusted and valued partner to management, scientific and support staff, and external organizations that can and has shown the ability to earn the respect of her/his colleagues and counterparts
