This role will lead the organization accountable for business partnering and information services for the Joint Replacement Division. The individual will develop and manage business partnerships with the according leadership teams to formulate IT strategy and architecture in alignment with divisional business strategy and objectives. The individual will continue to drive key programs to achieve financial, operational and customer service goals.
Key responsibilities include: lead an engaged and effective team, build strong collaborative relationships with division leadership and teams; manage the division IT budget and guide the division in effectively investing in IS to meet strategic objectives by providing knowledge and expertise to department heads and process owners in identifying opportunities for technology and prioritizing initiatives; prepare, define, and monitor IS projects to address business needs; and, manage alignment of project deliverables with business requirements throughout the project and delivery life cycle.
Drive IT value creation and customer satisfaction for the Joint Replacement Division
Build and maintain strong relationships with division leadership and act as a liaison between IT and the Joint Replacement Division.
Provide business partnering and consulting services with regard to business models, business expansion and growth as well as processes and organization
Drive creation of positive impact on revenue and margin, process efficiency and productivity as well as strategic capability development and improvement through delivering IT, digital, process and data innovations
Take leadership in defining the future of digital solutions within the divisions ability to learn and understand business requirements, issues and processes to articulate the context of projects and processes in business terms
Participate in the development of business and IT strategic plans; take the lead in executing these plans within the area of responsibility
Lead the execution of core IT programs
Lead, engage and develop Business Analysts, Project Managers, Architects and other IS resources to:
Address the division's IT priorities at agreed upon service levels and expectations
Conduct meetings and interviews with division stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional sessions to define and document high-level business requirements and project scope
Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders
Lead collaborative efforts for business case development
Positively challenge and question business partners on needs and benefits
Charter and prioritize program and project initiatives in conjunction with division leadership
Monitor service level metrics for the division to ensure that all SLAs are being met
Identify opportunities where conflicts/synergies/redundancies exist between business capabilities and systems to improve IT effectiveness
Contribute to the budgeting process and lead and recommend CERs for division IS projects
Manage the IS budget for the Commercial business in the Joint Replacement Division
Liaise with other IS stakeholders in ERP, Shared Services, Infrastructure and Governance to ensure alignment and ensure a smooth integration of process output with the rest of the IS/IT environment
Closely partner with the appropriate business partners from other GIO organizations where required by physical location proximity or organizational alignment.
Communicate on projects by issuing regular status updates and managing communication within team, IS organization and the Joint Replacement divisional
Perform other duties as directed
Education & special trainings:
Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of professional work experience in IT/IS and/or business discipline required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT/IS function.
Required qualifications & experience:
Extensive knowledge (5+ years) of medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industry and basic knowledge of adjacent areas in terms of processes, organization, products and IS requirements
Project management experience, working with internal and external cross-divisional team members, preferably with IS projects
Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both divisional leaders and technical teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, engage and develop a high performing team
Good business acumen and negotiation skills
