We are looking for a passionate and seasoned strategic and operational leader to join our team. You will help us build and run a world class organization, executing strategy across functions and helping our entire team be effective and engaged.

The Senior Director, Content Strategy and Operations role will serve as a key resource to the senior executive team for the Content Business Unit, by managing a team that provides strategic and analytical support to help operate and grow the business. This role is a unique opportunity to become immersed in the content side of the music and audio streaming industry. The position will be based in New York and will report into the VP, Head of Content Business.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and lead a central team that supports and improves the operations of the Content BU

  • Coordinate with the other operations groups in the Content BU and throughout Spotify to ensure that our operational and financial goals and strategies are aligned

  • Drive strategic planning projects and processes by developing 3-year and 5-year strategic plans to grow the business

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities

  • Build data-driven, scenario-based models to evaluate business impact of all types of strategic and business development initiatives (e.g., partnerships, investments, acquisitions, etc.)

  • Oversee the creation of presentations and briefing documents for regular meetings for the Chief Content Officer and the Head of Content Business

  • Shepherd the overall goal-setting and planning framework

  • Operationalize and help manage the organization's budget and hiring plan

  • Identify and monitor key market and competitive trends

  • Work closely with analytics, HR and FP&A teams to monitor performance metrics

Who You Are:

  • 15+ years of work experience preferred

  • You have proven experience managing Strategy, Business Development and/or Finance departments

  • You are a strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to transform goals into actionable plans

  • You are experienced in implementing strategic and large-scale initiatives projects in a change-oriented, fast-paced environment

  • You like getting into the details and solving complex problems

  • You have extensive experience building complex, multi-year business plan models

  • You have had demonstrated success managing P&L's

  • You have a knack for coordinating multiple teams towards achieving a common goal

  • You have a balance between attention to detail and swift execution

  • You are an excellent communicator

  • You are able to network and develop deep relationships across the organization

  • You have experience in the music or content-creation industries

VIEW JOBS 2/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-22T00:00 Senior Director Content Strategy and Distribution Job Summary The Senior Director, Content Strategy and Distribution, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for and own the planning, development and implementation of GLG's global content strategy. This role will develop a forward-thinking content strategy to grow and engage our audiences, partnering closely with cross functional teams. Under his/her leadership, the team will help raise awareness of GLG that will lead to increased site traffic, client acquisition and client and CM engagement. Critically, this individual will develop a strategy and execution capabilities designed to leverage GLG's core content assets as a differentiator in the marketplace. They will establish an overarching content strategy and will establish workflows and processes to support sourcing of content, editing and packaging for redistribution and related channel strategies. This individual will work closely with the Brand, Events and Communications teams as well the business unit General Managers and each of the marketing function leaders to build a global strategy. The ideal candidate will be ready to take on an entrepreneurial role that will require strong influencer skills as well as a deep understanding of the impact of content on user engagement and revenue. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Content Leadership — Define, communicate and measure the value of content in order to build followership across the Leadership, Communications, Events and Marketing Teams. Content Strategy — Leverage holistic understanding of GLG's offerings and potential as well as client interests and needs to define the editorial roadmap, leveraging proprietary content and data as well as third party content, and working cross functionally across BUs, content creation functions and marketing channels to ensure flawless execution of various distribution efforts. Content Development — Oversee the development of content for all GLG marketing channels, including social accounts, paid media partnerships, email, LinkedIn and GLG.it. Take the lead on creative content packaging using both existing executions and testing new ideas/formats to ensure optimized use of all proprietary and 3rd party content across GLG channels, with particular focus initially on leveraging Events content. Ensure consistent editorial voice across all materials. Content Distribution — Influence channel strategy to ensure optimized deployment of content across Client Solutions, other GLG-owned channels and third-party media properties. Research — Play an active role in building tooling to capture client interest areas and other research to gather information from key stakeholders to determine the validity of proposed topics and themes for GLG's content. Maintain an awareness of competitive activity, and gather market data for the business using the results to come up with well-informed topics and themes for further content creation. Measurement and Analytics — Enable structured content creation capabilities through the implementation of models and processes for sourcing information, analyzing, and creating content. Design and implement measurement systems that actively measure, manage, optimize and communicate the performance of the content put out by the business against operational objectives and strategies. Specifically, define and achieve KPIs including: * Brand engagement across marketing channels (email, social, media, etc.) * User acquisition and demand generation via content distribution * Direct and indirect value of content as user engagement tool An ideal candidate will have the following: * 7-10 years' experience in marketing, with a focus on editing, content creation and strategy for B2B environments, including experience managing internal and freelance teams * Ideally B2B services or platform experience * Experience across the entire content marketing process, from needs assessment through to measurement * Experience producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge (blog, website, campaigns, social media, content sharing communities) * Innate understanding of Brand Voice and channels in all content creation * Ability to process and make decisions based on data and set quantitative goals * Experience inspiring, motivating and leading a high performing team as well as leading by influence with a consultative approach * Determined and test-and-learn oriented to "figure it out" About GLG / Gerson Lehrman Group GLG is the world's knowledge marketplace.
