UW Medicine is seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Portfolio Management, UW Medicine. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and management of an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). As a key leadership role across the UW Medicine health system, the Senior Director, Enterprise Portfolio Management will set strategy for specific portfolios with key responsibilities to grow field engagement and partnerships. The EPMO was established by UW Medicine and the Office of the Chief Health System Officer, UW Medicine to enhance the organizational structure, standardization, and oversight of large-scale planning and portfolio management functions across the health systeminitiatives, programs, projects, capabilities, and/or experiences. The Senior Director will work with the EPMO Manager to create and establish new workflows, processes, documentation and visualizations to support decision-making by executives and senior leadership. The Senior Director will interact directly with executive and clinical leadership to facilitate enterprise planning, prioritization, and tracking of key efforts.
Lead an enterprise-level team that performs Planning and Portfolio activities for a large Academic Health System, which includes large portfolios of initiatives, programs, projects, capabilities, and/or experiences
Oversee development and management of Planning & Portfolio processes and rhythm of the business activities including strategic planning, intake of new work, and prioritization and governance
Drive continuous process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency, bringing consistency across portfolios and teams
Identify synergies across the Planning & Portfolio functions to optimize how we work internally
Work with stakeholders to influence and drive improvements in the enterprise planning & budgeting process
Accountable for quality of team output and deliverables, including process documentation, roadmap and plans, portfolio budget tracking, and portfolio updates
Effectively prioritize the work of the team, aligning to team & enterprise goals
Build impactful relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise
Understand, proactively identify, and communicate risks and trade-offs and drive executive-level discussions
Effectively build and lead a lean, highly effective team; provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and career development planning for team members
Develop executive-level presentations and communications
Create impact through personal confidence, expertise and authority
Provide thought leadership in planning & portfolio management for the team and company
Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related field of graduate study AND at least 15 years of demonstrated success/results in a portfolio management capacity (having overseen and managed multiple projects, created long term roadmaps, etc.).
Previous experience with Business to Business (B2B) and/or Business to Customer (B2C) software solutions (Salesforce, Constant Contact, etc.).
High levels of competency with: PowerPoint; Visio; Excel; Data visualization software, such as Tableau; Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) concepts (SQL, EDW, etc.).
Strong project management skills with exposure to PPM.
Excellent business planning and associated analytic skills.
Experience developing business plans and pitching to various audiences.
Experience with contract negotiations, evaluations, and responses.
Lean/Six Sigma Certifications preferred.
