Aon is looking for a Senior Director, End User Computing Platform Leader

Your impact as an End User Computing Platform Leader:

The IT Senior Director, End User Computing Platform Leader is responsible for the global technology strategy of products and services that sit within an End User Services organization. You will initially review the current technology roadmaps and strategy and propose new solutions considering innovation, business drivers, and changes in the technology landscape. You will serve as an expert in the field of operations and technology, and quickly develop a deep understanding of Aon's Solution Lines of business.

This position leads the teams who architect, design, build, resolves complex business requirements, implements best practices, applies technical governance with a keen focus on the Aon colleague experience.

This role works closely with all facets of Aon Technology as well as 3rd party vendor partners to ensure the business has a stable, predictable and efficiently defined domain.

Role Description / Primary

  • Manage a globally dispersed team with full performance management responsibilities.

  • Delegate responsibility and provide guidance to managers and leaders.

  • Participate in the formulation of IT strategies and has budget responsibility.

  • Drive infrastructure services vision, enable innovation, and leverage Aon IT trends while providing input to technology roadmaps and strategies across a set of services.

  • Drive transformational programs to improve operational efficiencies and direct / deliver technology transformations using technical and functional teams.

  • Own Total Cost of Ownership reporting on products and services in scope.

  • Manage and lead a team of Technical Architects, Technical Design Authorities and Engineers, in the creation, management and deployment of current infrastructure components to fulfil the architecture and strategic requirements of the EUS Platform.

  • Drive compliance with legal, financial, human resources, and other functions.

  • Proactively review and manage incident and request volumes to ensure the EUC team (in cooperation with the Service Desk and Local Technology Coordinators) is delivering appropriate service.

  • Partner closely with the Information Security to develop security-hardening standards and promote highly secure user services through a variety of approaches.

Role-specific Technical Skills and

  • Understand and contribute to the Digital Workplace Solution's vision, goals and strategies while championing change, innovation agility and flexibility.

  • Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in own function and throughout multiple business areas.

  • Develop and maintain the product/service roadmap with a minimum 18-month horizon at all times (quarterly presentation and validation)

  • Review the Artefacts namely: High Level Designs, Low Level designs, Operations Guide (annual presentation and validation)

  • Set & maintain standards, best practices i.e. Key member of Technical Governance Board

  • Responsible for complex projects which involve solutions that require integration, migration, creation of innovative solutions and management of risk.

  • Engineer an effective solution based on business needs, delivering high-quality documentation, and technology proof of concepts, to support the operationalism of the new technology

  • Services and areas of focus - End User Commuting Platform: Microsoft OS Windows 7 & Windows 10

  • Apple OS MacOS, iOS

  • Internet Browsers

  • End User Devices Laptop, Desktop Mac, Tablets, etc.

  • Platform Management GPO, SCCM / ConfigMgr, Patch Mgmt.

  • Core Build / Core Apps Life Cycle Mgmt.


  • 10 to 15 years of senior global managerial experience (multi national and multiple region experience is required for this role)

  • MBA in Computer Management or comparable fields

  • ITIL Certified Preferred

  • Experience in leading teams across multiple geographic regions

  • Negotiation skills with clients (internal/external) and vendors.

  • Strong business, communication and financial skills.

  • Demonstrate and model behaviors described in the Aon Leadership Model.

  • Ability to drive high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishments.

  • Ability to build and maintain High Performing Organizations

  • Ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas to individuals and groups.
