The Senior Director, eCommerce is accountable for the success of Square Enix West's eCommerce operations. As a key business leader, the individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the digital commerce strategy for video games, merchandise, and related products and experiences. They will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to drive online revenue, improve user experience, and enhance customer engagement. They will oversee a team of eStore managers and specialists, driving optimal performance and guiding professional growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven record in driving sales growth in digital channels, a deep understanding of eCommerce platforms, and the ability to lead and inspire a team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the eStore P&L, ensuring on-target revenue growth, gross margin improvement, cost management, and overall profitability.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive eCommerce strategy aligned with overall business objectives, defining corporate eCommerce strategy in collaboration with the Executive Management team.
  • Identify and prioritize key product segments, channels, and growth opportunities, ensuring seamless integration of eCommerce initiatives with other business functions.
  • Set ambitious sales targets, implementing pricing, promotional, and merchandising initiatives to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Oversee the analytics of sales data and customer insights to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of the eCommerce website, ensuring user-friendly and visually appealing online presence, implementing best practices for optimization, and collaborating with IT and development teams for technical enhancements.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction and loyalty through personalized recommendations, targeted marketing, and effective customer support, increasing customer acquisition, retention, and topline growth through digital campaigns.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to measure and report on key eCommerce metrics, developing insights for decision-making and strategy refinement, and providing monthly reporting for goal alignment.
  • Evaluate department roles and structure for efficiency and growth alignment, managing 3rd-party vendors and service agencies.
  • Oversee SKU preparation and coordinate monetization inputs with Developers, developing and executing Preorder Plan for eStore, and monitoring game sales (Digital + Retail) for performance analysis.
  • Supervise Rewards Programs and continuously develop eStore features, oversee site merchandising and provide eStore customer service, manage eStore financials and coordinate marketing efforts, and manage eStore book sales, including publication, merchandising, and purchase orders.
  • Performance measures: Incremental value add of SKUs (revenue), conversion, return on ad spend (ROAS).

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional marketing and eCommerce experience with consumer goods including site merchandising.
  • Advanced understanding of the digital marketing landscape including CRM, search, display, and social.
  • Experience/familiarity with digital marketing tools and 3rd parties including AB testing platforms.
  • Experience owning business results for a major eCommerce website either in-house or via an agency and managing contributing teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and within deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; including fundamental presentation skills and the demonstrated ability to articulate ideas clearly and appropriately influence others.
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce and content management solutions, metrics used, and online analytics.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with exceptional execution and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable with doing work in the trenches while still maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Experience with Big Commerce or Shopify platforms a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including strong MS Excel skills; GA360.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engender trust and build relationships.
  • Strong team management skills, including conflict management, mentorship/coaching, and workload management.

Annual Salary Range: $190,000 - $225,000
