This role as a Senior Director of Compliance located in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Birmingham or Georgia you will be responsible for promoting a culture that drives ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance across the organization and for creating practical processes and tools to identify, test, monitor, address and mitigate risks and deliver exceptional service to business clients. This role will report to the Deputy General Counsel.

Job Description

Minimize risks and protect assets. Partner with the Regulatory team and track applicable laws and regulations that affect the company.

Analyze industry trends and assess the company's corresponding practices and share insights and recommendations with the appropriate audience.

Manage a program that aligns with U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines

Direct risk assessments across all relevant domains and programs

Establish compliance standards, policies, and trainings to address identified risks.

Build and maintain relationships and trust with cross-functional partners and internal and external stakeholders.

Partner with applicable company leaders to influence the joint development of risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls, identify and correct noncompliance, and develop responsive guidelines, policies, and trainings.

Support the preparation of compliance and ethics documents for the Board of Directors

Direct the development of engaging compliance trainings and communication across the company that drive clarity regarding the company's compliance and ethics expectations and promote a culture of ethics and compliance.

Perform ad hoc project analysis.

Analyze, summarize, and review data; report findings, interpret results and/or make recommendations.

Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance the corporate compliance program.

Maintain appropriate records related to corporate compliance initiatives.

Drive improved compliance outcomes in top risk areas.

Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports and drive effectiveness, efficiency in their work outcomes.

Create and maintain a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with company values; ensure on-going, effective communications to the team, and support individualized development by offering regular performance feedback, coaching, recognition, and evaluation.

COMMUNICATION: The balance of internal vs. external audience with whom the role communicates and the predominant type of communication such as explanation, influence, and negotiation.

Internal:

Influence team members of all levels within the Shipt organization, including the executive team, by identifying and analyzing options that mitigate compliance risks while driving business priorities.

Tailor message for the audience and provide quick turn advice that facilitates risk-based and informed decisions.

Partner with business partners of parent company, as applicable, including Information Security, Compliance and Ethics, Government Affairs, Risk, and Law

External:

Influence external audiences

Compliance Responsibilities:

Partner with colleagues to assist in the development and maintenance of new procedures and operational changes that minimize risk, add value, and anticipate trends in areas of responsibility.

Develop and maintain procedures and operational changes that increase productivity, add value, and anticipate trends in areas of responsibility.

Develop and provide training and self-help guides for business partners.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

KNOWLEDGE: How much and what type of broad or specialized knowledge is required of this role.

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a four-year / bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD)

  • Experience developing and managing training and communication projects, preferably including compliance.

  • Experience of implementing policies and procedures

  • Ability to deliver challenging messages and influence with/without authority.

  • Project management, process mapping, and change management capabilities.

  • Experience leading teams - driving collaboration, empowerment, and teamwork; setting strategic vision; delivering results; and building a high performing, inclusive, and engaged team.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, resolve conflict, build consensus, and collaborate.

  • Skilled at building trusted relationships with team, business partners and other stakeholders

  • Organized and resilient and ability to be agile and manage in ambiguous circumstances.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong team player who is adaptable and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to strike a sensible and practical balance between legal risks and business goals.

  • Respects, appreciates and is curious about differences related to working with others; committed to developing an inclusive team

Work Arrangement:

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis.
