Markel has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Director of Claims Transformation Product Manager. This is a vital role for leading the Claims Department through its transformation journey to adapt to a rapidly growing business and changing system environment. This role will work across all claims business units, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance and technology to deliver large scale, complex products that enhance the claims experience for both its internal and external customers and partners.

Product Management & Governance:

  • Own the overall Guidewire implementation strategy, roadmap, and execution plan to address the needs of both new and existing insurance products.

  • Establish a shared vision across the claims division by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution.

  • Recruit and mentor, a high-performance product management team, ensuring members have the resources, skills, and capabilities needed to deliver on the division priorities.

  • Drive feature level design sessions and product development with IT partners to include engineers, architects & UX.

  • Define, develop, and analyze metrics that inform the successful implementation of Guidewire Claim Center.

  • Be an advocate for your product(s); articulate the customer and business value to leaders in the business. Develop compelling presentations and prototypes to communicate your product vision.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key business partners to ensure product plans are aligned with the claims division objectives/plans.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of program management experience, managing teams within the Claims operations, or technology divisions of a large P&C Insurance company - Preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience of delivering and supporting a large scale Claim Center implementation.

  • 5+ years delivery of cloud-based and cloud-native business applications - plus

  • 5+ years' experience working in Agile environment preferred.

  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to build effective business relationships.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present clearly and persuasively to customers, partners, colleagues, and senior executives.

  • Ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision.

  • Driven, focused, and Resilient in a transformative environment.

  • Bachelors' degree or the equivalent experience in relevant field required, Masters' degree preferred

Pay information:

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.

The salary range for this position in is $170,000 - 210,000.
