This role is pivotal in providing strong financial leadership and overseeing the operational accounting and financial reporting for our agency and its related entities.
The Senior Director will ensure that our accounting practices align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and comply with all governmental, external funder, and investor requirements. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will lead our finance team, including the Controller, Grants Director, and Financial Planning & Analysis.Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSINGLead Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee the annual budgeting process, financial reporting, projections, and cash forecasting, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial stability.Manage Grant Administration: Collaborate with various teams to align grant funding with organizational needs, oversee grant reporting and compliance, and coordinate grant submissions and renewals.Direct Operational Accounting:
Supervise all operational accounting functions, maintain accurate financial records, manage grant accounting, oversee real estate accounting for development projects, and direct the annual external audit process.Provide Strategic Leadership: Partner with the CFO to provide strategic financial leadership, develop and monitor financial management policies, and mentor the finance team.Ensure Systems and Compliance: Administer key accounting systems, ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, and evaluate the effectiveness of financial software.

QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant (preferred).7-10 years of management experience with progressively more responsible fiscal, administrative, and leadership duties.3-5 years' experience with nonprofit accounting and publicly funded (city, county and federal) grant sources.Experience in accounting for multiple entities and funds, and a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are required.Knowledge of low-income housing development and operations is strongly preferred.Experience with MIP Accounting and Boston Post software is a plus.
