As our new Senior Digital Strategist & User Researcher you will be deeply involved in our Strategy process, including leading client stakeholders interviews, conducting market research, providing competitive analysis and brainstorming information architecture and wireframes for a multitude of websites. You will then be the glue that brings together our designers, copywriters, developers and marketers to deliver comprehensive and integrated website strategies. And you'll be doing it for some exciting and meaningful clients who want to push boundaries, including the Red Cross, Wilderness Society, RCN, Bloomberg and more.

Responsibilities
We are looking for individuals who are skilled in the full spectrum of strategy skills who will:

  • Apply client discovery, user research, and competitive analysis to devise comprehensive and integrated digital strategies for our clients.
  • Develop detailed strategy documentation including personas, user journeys, competitive analysis, information architecture and user experience.
  • Work with our Design/UX team to express the user experience as wireframes.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure we are delivering on the strategic plan throughout the design and development process. This means working with internal team members across disciplines to ensure that everyone has a clear picture of project goals and is meeting our clients' objectives.
  • Communicate often and build strong client relationships. At the end of the day, you are someone who can provide our clients with a positive and effortless experience.
  • Identify new strategies and business opportunities within existing client accounts.
  • Participate in the new business process to develop client proposals and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline process so we can produce better work while improving efficiency.

Requirements

We're looking for someone with talent and a passion for strategy work, including the following experience:

  • 7+ years experience developing comprehensive, integrated client strategies.
  • Experience conducting user research including online surveys and focus groups.
  • Experience generating information architecture and user interface designs.
  • Excellent client communication skills.
  • Experience generating strategy documentation including personas, user journeys, competitive analysis, sitemaps and wireframes.

Our ideal candidate is a senior writer with political, marketing, and election-cycle experience. Someone who has the ability to capture the voice of our diverse clients and their myriad campaigns is comfortable leading others while working within multiple, simultaneous tight deadlines and is dedicated to helping Democratic candidates and progressive nonprofits achieve success engaging the hearts and minds of their targets and constituents. This person will be responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of fundraising or engagement programs and should feel these things are second-nature.</p> <p>This position requires a high degree of organization, time management, motivation, attention to detail, and an ability to pivot toward competing priorities. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and strategic collaboration skills are a must. This person will lead and implement the digital strategy for a few of our great candidates and organizations gearing up for tough elections or organizations doing the kind of work that makes you eager to get started in the morning. The ideal candidate will have either led or been an important part of a digital operation previously. You’ve led or helped raised a lot of money as part of an email program and have familiarity with direct response advertising campaigns as well. </p><p>You’re going to lead the work at all stages of the operation and enjoy the credit — but with the support of other members of the team when needed. You’ll likely work with three clients maximum — and it is our pledge to make sure we’re working together to connect you with ones you want.
